Co-Parenting with a Narcissist

This group is for moms trying to figure out how to navigate co-parenting or parallel parenting with a narcissist. It is a safe space for us as Moms to come together. Feel free to contact me directly on questions as I have been dealing with it since my sons have been born.

Poor communication

My daughter’s father has always been extremely hard work. It’s his way or no way. Anyway, he told me the other week that he was away on the Sunday (his usual day) so couldn’t have her. This was fine and I had made plans to take her out for the day with friends. It got to the Sunday morning, and he told me that he was having her and that he meant this weekend. He got very nasty over message when I said that we had gone out as he told me he wasn’t seeing her (voice note to prove it) and I ended up bringing her home so he could see her. This weekend, we are in a similar situation. He can’t have her so I have booked and paid to take her out to an animal park. I’ve now just been told that his parents want her for a few hours. Am I right to be annoyed with that he keeps swapping and changing all the time? What do I do? She’s never been on her own with his parents and is extremely unsettled as it is at the moment and absolutely hates going with him and his parents.

So over it

My 5 y.o has been having the worst attitude towards his siblings and I for a while now. (Not just attitude either, he’s been hitting his brother as well) Everyday is a battle with him and I’m struggling so bad mentally bc of it. Has anyone else dealt with this? It gets really bad when he comes back from his dads & I have no idea what to do because his dad is high conflict asf and I can NEVER get a useful conversation out of him.

Do I need to be responding?

My ex has been sending the same demands over and over again recently. Constantly asking to have our daughter overnight. This is something that, because of many safeguarding concerns, I won’t allow. Do I need to be responding every time he does that? I normally try to respond in an amicable way but he always gets very verbally abusive whenever I do respond.
