Poor communication

My daughter’s father has always been extremely hard work. It’s his way or no way.
Anyway, he told me the other week that he was away on the Sunday (his usual day) so couldn’t have her. This was fine and I had made plans to take her out for the day with friends. It got to the Sunday morning, and he told me that he was having her and that he meant this weekend. He got very nasty over message when I said that we had gone out as he told me he wasn’t seeing her (voice note to prove it) and I ended up bringing her home so he could see her.
This weekend, we are in a similar situation. He can’t have her so I have booked and paid to take her out to an animal park. I’ve now just been told that his parents want her for a few hours.
Am I right to be annoyed with that he keeps swapping and changing all the time? What do I do? She’s never been on her own with his parents and is extremely unsettled as it is at the moment and absolutely hates going with him and his parents.

No you are not. You are not wrong in anyway. He sounds like he has no respect for your time or your boundaries. He sounds like he thinks he has the right to move your schedule around when he feels like it. I suggest you find a way to set firm boundaries about that. If he days you are preventing him from seeing his child, don’t feel guilt, he’s is manipulating you. Be as firm as you can. He needs to be consistent and respectful.

I even said if they wanted to see her for a couple hours before we go in the morning, then fine. And his response was “well no, I don’t see her in the morning” but what difference does it make if he isn’t there anyway?
He then starts about how he was to see “his” daughter more and how i’m stopping him and holding her back. He’s expecting me to drive 4 hours to take her to see them whilst they are on a family holiday. Which she isn’t going on as she’s never spent a night away from me.
