Does anyone have any unhinged monster/alien romance series recommendations? It's hard to navigate what's ai slop and what isn't! I want to read something made with love by a human being :)

I’m in the middle of You With The Sad Eyes by Christina Applegate. It’s pretty heartbreaking, some of the things she experienced. I don’t know if I’d recommend it but will wait til the end and see.

Looking for other memoirs read after. Especially stories about motherhood (or daughterhood).

Don’t get me wrong, the world building and character development is amazing, yet the writing itself seems subpar. Too simple almost. I had originally assumed her audience was geared toward school-age, until the smut scenes took over. Whoof, no young teen should be reading such content. I did grow up with classics like Jack London and Richard Adams, so maybe I’m biased, but it seems the current writing styles have become more simplistic for adult novels. I could handle ACOTAR, but couldn’t get past the first few pages of TOG. It’s just not my vibe. (I get it, to each their own, maybe I’m the only one not riding the Maas train. 🚂🙃)
