Induction

Has anyone had an induction at Bedford hospital and can share their hospital story? I’m anxious about it and it’s next Friday. I’ll be 40+1 and I have diet controlled GDM.

Childbirth

Bedford hospital

Did any of you mums have water birth at the Bedford hospital? If so how did they monitor the baby’s heartbeat? When I was there they told me if I want to get in the water they need to put a “sticker” on babys head and I really didn’t want that, but I’ve heard that some hospitals do the Bluetooth monitoring so I wanted to see everyone’s experiences x

Some advise please 🙏

Sorry this is a long one…

I’m putting this out there because I’m hoping some fellow mums might understand what I’m feeling and maybe give me a little bit of advice.

Recently I’ve been feeling really low and struggling with depression most days. I feel like I’ve completely lost my motivation and focus, and I’m becoming increasingly irritable, which isn’t the person I want to be.

I have a 5-month-old baby who obviously takes up most of my time, and alongside being a mum I’m helping my partner with the admin for his business, trying to keep on top of the house, walking the dog and making sure everyone else is okay.

Somewhere along the way, I’ve completely forgotten about me.

I feel guilty even saying that I want some “free time” because I’m so lucky to have my little boy and I absolutely adore being a mum. But I’m starting to realise that wanting some time for myself doesn’t make me selfish or ungrateful.

I think I’m just exhausted from constantly feeling like I should be doing something for someone else.

The hardest part is that I feel like the way I’m feeling is starting to affect the people closest to me. I’m more irritable, I withdraw, I snap and sometimes I don’t even realise I’m doing it until afterwards.

I’m genuinely scared that I’m going to push my partner and other people I love away because I’m struggling to be myself at the moment. I don’t want to lose the people closest to me because I’m finding things difficult, and that scares me more than I can explain.

I want to find my motivation again. I want to feel focused, productive and happy in myself again. I want to have things that are mine and make time for myself without feeling guilty about it.

So fellow mums, what helped you when you felt like you had completely lost yourself?

How did you start making time for yourself without feeling guilty? How did you get your motivation back and start feeling like you again?

I’d genuinely love to hear your experiences, even if it’s something really small that helped.

I’m hoping I’m not the only one feeling like this. ❤️🫶🏼
