Has anyone tried period pants?

Aunt Flo decided to visit for the first time in three months, so I bought a pair of period pants to see if I liked them. Who has them? Who likes them? Who hates them?

My flow is usually too heavy to use them alone but as a backup they are great. Swim bottoms made for your period are a lifesaver if you're a swimmer like I am - I wouldn't try it the first two days or so but once the flow starts to wind down they're great!

I used those black period night time underwear after I gave birth for like 2 weeks and loves them. Weren’t bad pricing and never leaked. Definitely better than those giant pads they’re give you. 😂

Never heard of this 🤔 😳

I have knix period underwear. My daughter has some too. My periods are totally irregular so I love them to stop leaking. Very comfortable. I found some at Walmart that are much cheaper. Not as comfortable but I use them as back ups. They are worth the investment!

I’ve been told different things about these. Am yet to try them myself but don’t fancy too try until I have my own place as it’s a bit hard to wash anything without being told off.

They are wonderful

So much wonderful feedback. I’m yet to try them but more intrigued than ever now. I guess I want to, like some others here too, like the real nitty gritty as to what they are like to wear, clean etc. TIA ❤️

OMG! Best thing ever. I bought some and there are so good. It's a pity there are popular now when I'm nearing the end of my periods

I bought the ones made by always because I have such a heavy flow and they are amazing!!!! Best money I’ve ever spent

Best investment ever! I even bought my daughter some. I have heavy periods. I haven't had a leak since. No more pad issues.

What are period panties?! Just got my first period in 5 years! This sucks!

Here's the thing, they work but they also don't. Let me explain. I got a period panty and some cloth pads that could be used with regular clothes, they snap on. Anyway, at first it was cool, saving money, environmental, all that, but there is a certain amount of blood coming out and the snap pads are capable of moving around still, the sticky parts of disposable are better. So, even if you are changing the cloth pad now you have to pull off a blood soaked thing which normally you would throw away, also what if you are out of the house, now you have a blood soaked cloth that needs to be replaced. And if you wash it by hand in the sink it still needs time to dry, so you need a larger number than you thought, and if it air drys, well have you felt a air dry towel before? Yeah, that crunchy feeling is now on your privates. But the underwear didn't leak so that was good. I could wear it at night. But I only had one so it lasted one night before I still had the same problem the next night or do laundry forever.

I just turned 50, I never heard of period panties. Reading all the comments it sounds like there are a lot of pros & cons to wearing the period panties. I get my period every 2 months, and I am not sure if I should invest in period panties.

Yes they are fantastic

I have two teenage daughters that live in period pants they are awesome I just wish they had them when I got mine but I don't just the symptoms 3times over due to sympathy pains

Avatar

Yesssssss and I love them!! I can hardly ever find them in my size though

Avatar

I bought a few and used them for one period before falling pregnant 🙄 they were great though.

I use the for the beginning and end of flow. In between that I use reusable pads - a year in and I never looked back. Game changer x

I have two pairs of the Wuka periods pants (bought in Sainsburys on offer). They are brilliant. Never leaked. I would always flood in the night with tampons. I do only wear them over night or when Im just pootling around at home all day. They would be too thick to exercise in and I live in leggings. I just rinse the whole thing through and radiator dry them.
I have heard that it pays to pay where period pants are concerned.

I used Thinx and loved them. I mostly used them as a backup for a cup, but they're also great when you're not sure when your period is coming.

Avatar

I have some. I wear them with a pad on the inside because no matter what size pad I wear, I always end up leaking out of the back.
