Crazy to move to a full size bed when hes sleeping great in the crib?

I want to move my son to a full size mattress and get rid of his crib. Mostly because if he can wake up and entertain himself for a while we can save a few zzz’s. Also, I just feel like he’s ready - we put him into his crib and he pulls his blanket up and usually goes to sleep pretty easy. Has anyone transitioned yet? Your experience would be amazing!
