I’m 50 yrs old and my menopause symptoms have been getting worse over the years. It’s absolutely depressing and becoming downright debilitating. I’ve tried just about everything from natural supplements to antidepressants. I’m on low dose bio identical hormones progesterone/estrogen and they slowly appear not to be working anymore either. I consider myself a pretty healthy person and is very mindful of what I put in it. But lately my insomnia, depression, brain fog, anxiety, digestive issues, lack of motivation and extreme fatigue have truly gotten the best of me. I used to be very active, motivated and hiked a lot. Now, I’m lucky if I make it off the couch. I work part time as a pediatric home care nurse and even that is getting to be too much. Going through this change is hard on my body. As I’m sure from reading everyone’s posts, that you are all aware. I’m not happy at all at this stage of my life. Drs don’t listen and just want to put my on an antidepressant. I’ve tried them all.. they make my insomnia and symptoms worse.I’ve considered taking time off from work but it worries me that it will make me more stressed without the income or a not have a job to go back to. It truly sucks to live like this every day. Any suggestions that I might not have tried are welcome. Truly desperate to feel better.

I take a low dose compounded bio identical progesterone/estrogen cream. I see a naturopath and she Put me on that according to a pretty specific hormone test I took over a course of 3 days. I’m thinking I need a different dose of hormones. I’ve been on this one for about a year. I take clonazapam and Benadryl for sleep. I absolutely don’t want to be on them because they cause dementia but I need my sleep. I can’t win in that department. I would like to switch to something else but I’m not sure what. I’ll look up the one you take.

All your other suggestions ,I’m already doing.. and they are helpful. Melatonin gives me a headache and the sun has been very limited here lately. I’ve tried a sun lamp and it gives me a headache as well. I’m taking vitamin d and hope this time it doesn’t make me constipated. My body is very sensitive to everything I put in it. Most drs have a hard time figuring me out

Thanks for your suggestions. I was taking the estrogen patch from my regular dr and the progesterone pill. The progesterone made me feel terrible when I took it 10 days out of the month. I will definitely look into seeing another dr about recommending hormones. A lot of drs won’t prescribe them. I don’t want the risks of being on them but I don’t want to suffer with these debilitating symptoms for years to come. It’s like I have to pick my poison. Living life on the couch isn’t an option. I called a dr In the area and I’m waiting to get an appointment. Thanks for your help
