2year old stutter?? Speech questions
Is it normal/common for a 2 year old to stutter?
My daughter is 2years 3 months old and is/has been pretty fluent in speaking for about 6 months. I can understand everything she tries to say, she can count to 10 and back to 1, knows her ABC and loves to sing nursery rhymes.
Lately, (in the last month) she's developed a few weird habits, for starters she started replacing the number 7, with 12. So 1,2,3,4,5,6,12,8,9,10. At first this didn't bother me because I just guessed she had learnt a new number, but she is convinced it's 12 and gets very upset when I say 7. It's like 7 doesn't exist anymore.
Also, when saying certain works like N words, Nose, Nana etc, she stutters hard over the N, which she's never done before, so it sounds like nnnana and nnnnose, mmmooon, mmmmama. I don't know if she's just experimenting with sounds or if these are early signs of a problem.
Experienced mamas & professionals, what do you think?
My 2yo was doing this for a few weeks, but then out of nowhere his vocabulary just grew so much, words I didn’t even know how he’d know. He only stuttered because his brain was thinking so much. He doesn’t do it anymore.
