I don’t think there’s a right or wrong age - whatever works for you! It’s great to be doing them at all, and starting at 1 will definitely still get her on track to be an early water baby. Are you taking her /planning to take her swimming yourself? I started taking my boy to the pool quite early and I decided to start swimming lessons at 4 months, partly because I had the time whilst on mat leave, and also so I could learn some helpful things to do with him whilst we went as I was mainly bobbing around. There is the cost of course, and also you can find some YouTube videos with ideas for yourself so again, not completely necessary, but we both really love the lessons. They’re a complete faff to get to / ready for before and after for 30 minutes in the pool, but it’s great having a teacher to lead, meeting the other babies, and you can see how they can start them getting used to swimming moves and safety related techniques as the weeks go on

Thank you Jacqui. I'll send my enquiries to forest hill. I'm just worried that the pool might be too cold for her. Is aquatots pool heated? @Jacqui
They sing songs too, so it’s just a lovely session. We do Aquatots which is more expensive, but we had enquiried at Forest Hill and they didn’t have availability for his level, so you might want to get in there early to book if you wanted to go there (not sure if they have a wait list)
