Has anyone who has PCOS and had an appointment with infertility been on the larger bmi scale? I have my first infertility appointment next week, I have been fighting for this for 4 years after ttc for 6. I’ve had 2 gynaecologist appointments in a 4 year period so this appointment means the absolute world to me but I’m worried they’re just going to tell me I’m too overweight to receive any help. I am currently on a weight loss journey just now but I’m sure as fellow cysters, you can appreciate just how hard it is 😩

I completely understand your concerns. My BMI is high and I have PCOS. We did several cycles of IUI. I continue to workout and eat healthy. My doc mentioned my weight but it didn’t stop us from moving forward.

I get where you’re coming from. I’ve been working with a Reproductive Endocrinologist at a fertility clinic since September ‘21 and before our first appt I was STRESSED that all they were going to focus on was my weight. They didn’t even mention it. Since then we’ve talked with our doctor about it (he put me on metformin and said it could make me lose a few pounds) but they have never pressured me to lose weight or made it a requirement to move forward.

I've just been referred to a fertility consultant after my diagnosis. I'm terrified of them just telling me to loose weight as I have been hearing that for so long. And I'm trying, I really am but I can't seem to shift anything.
