Can someone help me? Please read šŸ˜šŸ’”

I'm looking for someone to help me decifer some awful news that I received from the Dr's. I had a fit test that came back positive for blood in my poo. It was 15

They wanted a repeat test and it came back four times higher than the previous result last week, it's now 61.

I have a horrible feeling I know what the cause is. I've experienced a lot of weight loss and vomiting these past few months. I've got an urgent appointment with my Dr next week but I can't wait that long. Can someone eitheir be honest with me (I know there's lots of medical professionals on here, myself included) or reassure me. I'm in peices rn šŸ˜šŸ’”

It’s nothing until it’s something wait to hear from your doctor

I’m sorry to hear that you are going through this. I would be a nervous wreck too. In no way I know what you are going through but I would try to keep in mind if it was urgent enough they would have you come in right away. That is something I always try to tell myself. From my understanding you would probably need to undergo more testing for an answer, like a colonoscopy.

Pulled from google ā€œ A positive FIT is not a cancer diagnosis. It only detects blood. While it can be a sign of polyps or cancer, it also commonly detects bleeding from non-cancerous causes like hemorrhoids, anal fissures, ulcers, or inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).ā€

I hope you get the answers you are looking for soon. Please reach out if you need to vent. I always crash out anytime I have something medical related

I presume they’ll schedule a colonoscopy and endoscopy which can pick up a number of things , so easy to say not to think the worse but there are so many things it could be that aren’t cancer

I’ve had both, so if you’ve any questions ask away! Are you in the uk?x

Okay, let’s look at what the test measures and its accuracy. Since it detects blood in the stool, that could come from several causes… hemorrhoids (including internal), inflammation, polyps, or cancer. So there are multiple less concerning possibilities.

Next, the numbers… it has high specificity (90s), meaning if it finds blood, it’s usually real—but not necessarily from cancer. Sensitivity is lower (around 70–80%), so it catches many cancers, but not all.

Translation: A positive result means blood was found, not the cause.
In practice… only about 3–10% of people with a positive FIT test have colorectal cancer—more often it’s polyps or other benign causes.
So, overall… all you know right now is there’s blood in the stool. I’d try to hold onto that and not catastrophize (easier said than done) while waiting to learn more.

Pcos secondary infertility?

Hi ladies, I have pcos and after a year of trying we did two round of Letro and got pregnant. Per the pre sticks ( which ik aren’t always accurate for pcos but have gotten progesterone checked at day 21 and have been around 10 before Letro and like 18 after Letro) I have always ovulated.

I’m on my third round of Letro and it’s day 25 and still no ovulation. I’m kind of just spiraling that I am extra broken now and will never be able to get pregnant again. Anyone else go through this? 😭

9DPO.. am I out?

I think I already know, but just looking for any shred of hope. No real symptoms, and very negative test this morning. Is there any chance or do I accept this isn’t my month (again.) This was my last go on Letrozole.

I’m so confused! Please help

Yes I am delulu but I can see a very faint line in all of these tests apart from the bottom one. But these were taken between 8-11dpo & no change. I think I’m probably not pregnant but why are they positive?! All lines were apparent within the timeframe.
I had a mmc in January & have had one period since.
Please help!
