Family of 4 seriously contemplating emigrating to Australia from
UK

Hello, myself and my husband have been wanting to emigrate to Australia for a while and we have recently just had our second child. We are wanting to know if anyone has experienced it on here and if anyone has any pointers ect 🙂

Id personally look at where in Aus youd wanna live. Look at rentals/ buying what youd do for jobs of you would want a small or big town/ city xx feel free to message me.. ive not moved but I live is SA

It would happen in the next 5 years as we are wanting to travel more around Aus to find our place and my husband is a Gas,plumbing and electrical engineer

I’m in Perth and yes the cost of living has increased like anywhere but it’s better value for money to live in Australia then England we were back in July 2025 and cost a kidney or two and we didn’t pay for accommodation or transport.

Australia is heading to looking like the UK…fast.

Im in Melbourne but I’ve lived in Sydney and Brisbane. I think it depends on why you’re moving and what you’re looking for. I moved from london to Australia 10 years ago, back when I was single so don’t know what it would be like to move with kids and thinking about with schools etc. But I wouldn’t move back to Uk, it’s definitely a better way of living here. Yes, cost of living has increased and so have gas prices, yes it’s hard to get a rental atm but I think in five years hopefully that’s all better. There be things you’ll need to get used to, for example there isn’t the range of low cost and affordable supermarkets in Australia like there is in the UK. Equivalent to nhs is Medicare, it’s good but not as comprehensive but on the whole great place to live.

Tested positive but now having a period!?

I was about 4 days late to atart my period and tested about a week before as we are acticely trying and saw the pregnant lines! However my period literally came on three days later than my “expected” due date.. why is this has this happened to anybody?

Are these positive? Been TTC for 4 years on and off, had a hycosy test last cycle. I don’t want to get my hopes up

How can I help my son understand who he is more?

Im a mama to a 7 yr old biracial (black/white) boy. His dad (or dad’s family) isn’t in his life. Im trying to get my son to understand that he is black also and that it’s ok to be both white and black. He doesn’t like it when we bring it up (we don’t push it). I asked him if it’s because his family (that he knows) is white. He said yes. I’m planning on getting him more age appropriate books for him with characters that look like him. Some black history shirts and books. What else can I do? Help this mama out!!
