How can I help my son understand who he is more?
Im a mama to a 7 yr old biracial (black/white) boy. His dad (or dad’s family) isn’t in his life. Im trying to get my son to understand that he is black also and that it’s ok to be both white and black. He doesn’t like it when we bring it up (we don’t push it). I asked him if it’s because his family (that he knows) is white. He said yes. I’m planning on getting him more age appropriate books for him with characters that look like him. Some black history shirts and books. What else can I do? Help this mama out!!

I would first say to get more people in his life to reflect his blackness! I am in a Facebook group I can share the name privately if you’d like, it’s ran by black women and men who are VERY real and authentic with us raising these strong, amazing black children as white women. My 7 year old is adopted. So his brother, sister, and parents are white! We haven’t had too many issues talking about how he is black and we are white, but I’ve tried to surround him and let him notice his blackness. His barber is amazing with him, our neighbor and he has an “auntie” who adores him. Don’t be afraid to reach out and find the people around you that can support you and your son! ❤️❤️
I would agree with having him spend more time with Black people but not just socially, in a real community way, like a mentor, or as a part of a family. He probably feels “othered” when you remind him that he’s Black especially if he is the only one who is Black.

Question
Hey! Please can someone help me with some advice and maybe even let me know if anyone has or they know has had similar? I had a very short cycle 23 days, and I have bled for 9 days so far. Just when I think the bleeding will stop it carries on. It’s been a changing flow light and some heavy but been up and down for the last 9 days. Currently TTC on month 5 now. This is the test. It appears negative and I believe I am 12/13 soo ovulated really late in my last cycle I believe on day 19. Any advice much appreciated!

Opinions? Would you say this is a positive ovulation test? It’s the darkest it’s ever been for me. I’m on cycle day 30 (breastfeeding so my cycles are a lot longer)
