Hi 👋🏻 just moved to Shirlington and expecting our first baby any day now ♥️ I work from home and have put off planning the return to work lifestyle… I’ll have 12 weeks off but then after that, I want to minimize how much we depend on outside help. We are thinking part time in-home help.
I have a very flexible employer but don’t want to spread myself too thin for my baby or work.
Any work from home moms with advice on how they managed without a full time daycare/nanny?

I’ve been a WFH mom with my kid at home since Covid started. My advice is to figure out a routine that allows you to get work done in chunks, and probably be prepared to log on early/work through lunch/work late as needed to get in your 8 hours. When my baby was younger I would log on early to get work done before she woke up. Then I’d work as she was eating in her high chair, or playing on a blanket, etc. And work during nap times too. It has definitely become harder as she became more mobile. If your partner can come home before your work day is over you can also use that time to get a block of uninterrupted work time. As baby grows you’ll have to adjust but it’s not impossible to be a WFH mom with baby home.
