I’ve read that as long as they rolled themselves onto their stomach and are capable of rolling back then it’s okay. That said, following this because I’m going through the exact same thing with my 10 1/2 month old who I’ve coslept with since 8 weeks. It drives me nuts because even though she can roll easily, and her Owlet monitor shows her oxygen at 96%-100% she face plants and it seems like it would cause a lot of carbon dioxide inhalation, which isn’t good.

Well the thing is he can roll onto his stomach and has pretty good head control but I rarely see him roll onto his back 😬😬
My two month old sleeps on his belly while on my chest in my bed 🤷🏻♀️ as long as he can breathe it’s fine. Doctors used to recommend putting babies on their bellies to sleep. If he take a pacifier give that to him at bedtime, it reminds them to breathe 😊
My 12 weeker has been belly sleeping for two weeks. She isn’t rolling on her own just yet but I was noticing how much she enjoyed to rest after tummy time and decided to try it for a nap with me closely monitoring. She was losing her shit one night a couple weeks ago and I gave her a bink and put her on her belly and she was instantly calm and cozy. I got the most sleep since her birth that first night! I will say she is cosleeping and we have an owlet for peace of mind. I think that makes it easier for me to say screw what the figurative “they” say haha. Obviously check with your pediatrician if you wanna be on the safe side, but if it’s working for your baby then keep doing what you’re doing mama 🥰

Yes! Last night he slept on his stomach and slept all night long in a loonnggg while. Today after 2 or 3 failed attempts I kindve waited til he rolled over and but the paci in his mouth and instantly went to sleep
My son started rolling back to stomach first too (well, consistently - he did stomach to back a handful of times). Pediatrician said as long as you set baby down on their back it doesn’t matter if they roll to their stomach.
He will be fine, he’ll know to move his head during sleep. My daughter would do that too
All my babies slept on their tummy from early on. They sleep soooooo good and longer periods of time that way. As long as he is on a flat sheet (no thick and fuzzy blankies) and knows how to turn his little head from side to side then he should be fine! Of course just keep a close eye on him the first few times if you want to make sure. I remember barely sleeping with my first cause I was watching him all night to be sure but he’s 8 now so he turned out fine lol Oh and if he uses a pacifier, even better cause sucking “reminds” them to breathe. And according to lot of studies, reduce the risk of SIDS Good luck and happy sleeping!!
Hi there early childhood educator here start him on his back when you put him down if he can roll on his own and does hes fine just let him do the rolling.
My niece has slept on her stomach since infancy. As long as you monitor their head movement and patterns... it all depends on baby 💙 she is 10 months now and still a tummy sleeper.
I'm letting my 2 month old sleep on his stomach for daytime naps because his head was getting flat on one side. I just monitor him and he sleeps long.
Lol ok! One of my other concerns is he likes to sleep face plants into the bed.. I mean he can breath but he will do it in his sleep no matter if I’m cradling him or have him in wedges or have something blocking him.. I’m just scared to death to go sleep
