Cold sore when pregnant

Anyone had one? Is it all ok when pregnant? I’ve had them before but I don’t get them often. Felt a bit under weather last 2 days like I was going to get sore throat snd today I’ve had what feels like about 4 starting to appear on bottom lip and my sore throats gone 🤪 can we use creams? I’m 27 weeks x

Hey hun this means you have herpes simplex virus, hsv, make sure to see a doctor and let the midwife know because they might want to offer you medicine since you are pregnant

Since you’ve had cold sore before it means you’d had it since then if not birth.
Hsv doesn’t happen all the time you usually get flare ups when your under the weather or stressed so pregnancy or sore throat makes sense
Or you might have blisters on your throat due to flare up.

If you have cold sores when baby is born it’s super important not to kiss them or have salvia or anything that baby touches to contract it, because within babies it can be super dangerous

It's fine! I get cold sores all the time even in pregnancy, if you have it now it means your body can fight it off and your baby will have the antibodies to also fight it off! If you want cream then go speak to the GP or a pharmacist and they can help you ☺️ I also agree with the comment above but you probably already knew all of what she said anyway ☺️

I've had a few since being pregnant, never really had before. It's when I'm run down. I've used the creams and not had any issues x

I’ve been getting them cause I’m run down. I didn’t use anything just let them go away on their own. Just important not to let baby come into contact when arrived
