Thoughts on Disney names?
So I'm a huge Disney fan; Little Mermaid is my fave princess! I've always loved the name Ariel, I like that it's a bit more unique but still a normal name! (I myself also have a rare unique name!) my first child turned out to be a boy!! And boy names were sooo hard to find one that both my hubby and I both liked.... And funny enuf we both settled on Sebastian (was not becuz of lil mermaid or disney) but of course everyone who knew me thought that was the reason!
Now I'm pregnant with my 2nd child! A Baby Girl!!! Yay!!! Is it weird to now name her Ariel becuz of my sons name?? I don't want them to get teased or made fun of becuz they happen to be names from the same movie! But I do love the name Ariel!! Our other top contender for girl names is Aria.... And I like it! (I haven't really heard it being used in Canada where I'm at, but according to the popularity charts, it's pretty high? And I do prefer more unique names so they don't run into being in the same class with another child with the same name!)

To be honest, I wouldn't do it because I think the association is too strong, but that's just me!
But otherwise I like the name
I had Ariella short-listed as a name! We ended up choosing something else but it could work for you 😍

Sounds fine to me! Maybe go with Ariel and change your son's name 😋 jk. Anyway, who cares what ppl think, they are nice names and you love Ariel so why not 😊
Go with what you like someone won't like it no matter what it is so who cares. Aria is popular because of Game of Thrones, even though it's spelled differently in the show -Arya Stark

To be honest I don't see the problem even if you did name your kids that because of the movie. I've seen people name their kids various of their names, tom, tomisha etc. Or everyone starts with the same letter, Paige, piper, pru, you don't here them getting made fun of. And don't even get me on twins. To be honest depending on their age difference their friends might not even notice it for a long time.
Name your kids what you want mama.
I love both names and wanted to name my girl Aria but fiancé said no because of the rising popularity from GOT
Girl my husband is an A name too so we already decided to be "those people" that have only A named children 😂 if you love it go with it! Though Aurora and Aria are also both beautiful.
Go with Aria!!! It's cute .. but so is Ariel.. atleast Aria is close
If you want to keep with the little mermaid theme, maybe pick one of the sister’s names.
I do love the name Ariel in general actually and not just because of Disney. But personally I do think if you already have a Son called Sebastian then you would be walking into a running joke with both of them.
I also love the name Aurora and some people might not know that is sleeping beauty's actual name? 🤷🏼♀️
My name is Ariel and I love it! I was born a little before the movie was released and named after a great aunt but I still get lots of “mermaid” comments. But honestly throughout my life I’ve gotten so many nice compliments on my name!
