Unusual water themed girl names?

i think Lilibelle/Lilybelle is cute - it means "beautiful lily", which is adorable - but i agree it is very sweet and cutesy. perhaps you could balance it out with a less girlie middle name? 💕

another option would be to use the name Calla, which is a more unusual girl's name and a type of lily - and then potentially use Lily as a nickname. or Ren, which means water lily.

Tigerlily could also work, if you prefer a less sweet/girly option.

Lilly is super cute and was actually my husbands top pick up until a month ago. We also wanted a themed middle name that was more personal to us and our relationship. We met in the PNW so are considering options that fit into that category. Some on our list are:
Grey (the constant clouds)
Rain (again obvious)
Fern (favorite native plant)
Cannon (cannon beach)

I think you have tons of unique options still going with a theme, especially outdoors! Hope that helped.

I personally am not a Lily fan it’s my least favourite of the flower names and I agree with you that Lily Belle is very sickly girly sweet! Also do you love Lillie/Lilly? Because if you don’t you really shouldn’t have to compromise you’ve got just as much say as him and let’s be honest you’ve done the hard work!!

A great option for you is Ren. It means water lily! I think it ties yours and your partner’s name options together beautifully.

How do you feel about the name Lily? Do you love it or are you settling for it? It is a nature name of course, but if you were hoping for something a little more unique for your daughter than I can see where you would be stuck. The suggestion of Tigerlily above was my favorite. Such a unique and fierce name. It’s got the Lily so if your partner just wants to call her that then they can, but it gives you a little something else. I taught a Tigerlily and she was the coolest child lol. They called her Tiggy sometimes which is a cute nickname option.

Can you lengthen Lily a bit so you have a little something more? Lilian, Lilianna, Lilia, ect…they all mean Lily but are slightly less common.

A name you both might like is ALARA. It’s such a gorgeous one meaning “water fairy” it’s a bit of Lily but not as common and also not wierd. Very phonetic and easy to spell and say. Could be Allie or Ari for a nickname. So cute!
