Preemie Baby’s Birthday

I’ve never heard of a baby going by anything but the date they were delivered.

The doctors in the nicu go by something different compared to her pediatrician who goes by both

Its very important to consider corrected age. Babies born 2 months early still have to go through all the same developments as babies who made it to 40 weeks… we just started counting that preemies age earlier, so of course it makes sense if a preemie born 2 months early is doing things a full term baby that is 2 months “younger” than them is doing.

This is what I been saying since my second child. Everyone learns differently I can't stand when they put children in categories of the age and what they should know by that age. My second child her doctor is like ooo why she ain't talking, I'm like she is very reserved with certain people you got to make her feel comfortable your a doctor not many kids like going lol 😂

But now for three year old she talk to you like she 6yrs old lol full sentence and all mind you she is 3 and her doctor expected her to speak in full sentence perfect smh. Now she talking like she 6 full sentence and clear. So don't get to down on that. Kids are like sponges as long as she thriving and moving she gonna be fine.

Wow your little girl is so cuteeee 😘. Happy birthday to her. My son was born premature too and will be 1 year later this month. We go by his corrected age for development and his real age for feeding

I know !!! Her pediatrician says she should be doing certain things and I’m like she does do things just not in front of you lol 😂

My daughter didn’t stand on her own until 15 months. She learned to walk that same week.

As far as I’m concerned, yours is perfectly“on track”.

smh doctors are dramatic lol in my opinion. Glad to know my baby isn't the only one lol

My son was born 4 weeks before his due date. He’s 8 month but his corrected age is 7 months. When people ask I answer by both age when I remember. Sometimes when I say 8 months I get the look like he’s small for his age then I find my self explaining why 🙄🙄🙄
