Night weaning?

Hi lovely mamas,

My LB is nearly 20 months old and I am getting to a stage of severe sleep deprivation and I am now considering to start night weaning. We co-sleep and he can access boobies whenever he pleases, which pretty much means I am a human dummy.

I love breastfeeding and I am hoping to let him self wean, but I have to do something about night time as he wakes up loads of times, I work full time and I am just knackered.

Any suggestions? I would of course like to approach this in a gentle way and the less tears the better :)

No advice, I'm on the same boat! Although my LB recently has only started waking up once or so after his most recent teeth came down.

in all fairness, my LB generally does the same, wakes up a couple of times and because he's already in my bed, after he's done with the boob he just rolls away and falls back asleep and so do I. He's now got a canine coming through and his eczema has flared up and he is super itchy, so I think BF might actually not be the biggest problem here, but we need a solution for his eczema really

ah,, thank you so so much for sharing, I'll definitely attend one of these!

have to tried the porridge oats in the tights in the bath before bed yet?

yes he's had oat baths, prescribed emollients, prescribed corticosteroid cream, prescribed antihistamines.. its just the cold dry weather has really done a number on him and nothing seems to be working at the moment. We also take him swimming once a week and sometimes the chlorine makes the eczema flare up but he loves it so much, I cannot make him skip more than one lesson.

Someone on here recommended clothes designed specifically to help with eczema, I am desperate so I am giving that a shot, trying them on for the first time tonight! 🤞

Parking drama, I want to know what people think!

My mum parks across my driveway sometimes (maybe up to twice a week) as there’s limited on street parking nearby.
Someone has been pushing her wing mirrors in, obviously in protest. Her car is older, and the wing mirror has been broken twice by doing this.

See my doodle. The guy doing this lives at the house at the top of the road’s turning circle. He walks the path of the purple line across the turning circle to do it to the car.

The road is not a busy road at all, it’s a short culdesac/dead end road. The pavement by my driveway is blocked by a bush and a lamppost (drawn in my pic lol), and any pedestrians would need to go on the road anyway to get past, even if her car wasn’t there. There are no obstructions on the pavement on the other side of the road.

Do you think what he is doing is fair??

You just changed your baby’s diaper, but realise you have to use the bathroom. Do you wash your hands..

Should I make a poll series on hand washing because I’ve been here long enough to know it’s not happening as much as it should lol

When you had a baby and you decided to breast feed did you feel that nurses were pushing formula?

My baby is not even 2 days old and she's been nursing super well according to the lactation specialist. She was born by c section so weight loss is expected to be higher than by vaginal birth due to the fluids given. I'm booked into see my doctor for the baby and I and lactation consultant at the doctors yet this nurse won't stop asking if I want to give formula so she can pee more and gain back her weight fast.

38 week MW apt

Do they check your cervix? I’ve heard that it might happen but people that have told me haven’t had a baby for many years so unsure what to expect! What usually happens at the 38 week apt?

Are we just staying in bed for 12 hours a night?

Right now I’m going to bed when my baby does at 8pm and staying there until his morning wake usually around 7. Does anyone else do this? He sleeps on top of me and usually wakes up and just crawls back on me when I try to put him down. What are your tips for sneaking away?
