Continue to Weight-lift?

So I’m nowhere near a body builder but I have been weightlifting consistently for abour a year and a half and I’m wondering if continuing to do so will harm baby? Im 7 weeks currently.

I haven’t pushed my max but I don’t want to put little one at even the slightest risk. Every time I try to do research I get articles that say 20mins light workouts and nothing that gets you out of breathe where you can’t talk and part of me is like ummm seriously? Lol I just refuse to believe the body can’t handle some version of what I was doing. But of course, I rather get input from professionals and others who have been here before because I would be devastated if something went wrong.

In short, I was lifting heavy and continued with the same kind of movements as before but lighter and keeping in mind that I was growing a baby. Not doing movements that would jostle or touch or compress my tummy or lying flat on your back.

I continued but with lower weights. And just listen to your body. I went on to dumbell/ body weight squats and lunges by about 20weeks. Certain exercises just won't feel right so just adapt throughput x

If you weight lifted before getting pregnant, you can keep going! I lifted my entire pregnancy, up until the day I gave birth!

So you’re not going to hurt your baby who you may hurt is yourself. Heavy weights while pregnant is not good for your pelvic floor. Puts more pressure and strain on those muscles. You can keep lifting in would just do low weight high reps. I also follow Brianna battles on instagram her handle is pregnantandpostpartumathlete I believe she had great tips!

I kept lifting, but I listened to my body which involved toning it down. I still got out of breath. I just did less weight or less reps. I’m 32 weeks now and baby is healthy! ☺️
