Potty training

Hi ladies I'm wondering if you can give me any advice or help on how I can get my son to poo on the potty. He's fine mostly when it comes to peeing but just poo in his pants!

My girl potty trained end of April 2022 (was 2 on the 13th) She took to it so well and was dry day and night within 2 days of starting. However I couldn’t for the life of me get her to poo on the potty/toilet. She was freaked out by it early on and I would have to put a nappy pant on her when she asked for a poo. I tried songs, I tried distraction, we read stories. You name it we tried it she wouldn’t budge. I just went with the flow and followed her lead. We were staying in a hotel beginning of September and she asked for a poo. I told her to go try and on the toilet and she did it. We’ve never looked back. I found the more I pushed and tried the less she wanted to do it. I went with her flow and she did it! So I’d just say keep trying. Don’t tell him off for doing it in pants as frustrating as it is just redirect and say look you’ve ruined your nice pants. Poo belongs in the toilet and just flush it away and remind him to use the potty next time. He will get there in no time ☺️

Thank you for the advice and will keep trying. I'll keep you updated lol

Does he have a place he likes to poo? One thing you can do is provide toys or a mark (masking tape cross etc) in the familiar place then gradually move into the bathroom. You can also start pooing in nappy, then cut a hole making it gradually bigger. Lining loo with paper helps stop any unpleasant sensory splashback issues and figuring out if anything like flush or lighting is a problem could help?
