Hi ladies,
I have a question for any mums using kendamil formula .. did you change from stage 1 to stage 2? The price is the same between the stages but I read the main source of protein is slightly different to supposedly get babies used to cows milk when they hit 12 months... would love to know what everyone is doing... I know a lot of people say stage 2 is just a gimmick...

I’m using cow and gate so different brand but we’re sticking with first infant/stage 1 my health visitor said it was fine as the stage 2’s etc are pretty much just a marketing thing.. also my little one is thriving on it he doesn’t drink or eat much (not a big foodie😫) so really don’t want to change the thing he is having consistently 🤣 but all my friends who have babies all used the follow on/stage 2 after 6 months xx

Hey lovely, my LO is 7 months and is on stage 2 kendamil he eats 3 meals a day plus pudding after lunch and dinner and has 5 180ml/210ml bottles a day. I feel like stage 2 is thinner as he does want more but I’m trying to do BLW so fair so good he really enjoys it and I feel like it’s more on the parent whatever you think is best. I duno if that helped but this is just my experience so far. Ppl have said it’s a marketing thing but if you read what you buy you’ll know it’s not xxx

My lg is 7 months on 27th and were still on kendamil stage 1 atm. Been debating whether to change over or not, heard you dont really need to. But was maybe thinking of it so mums with newborns can get stage 1 abit better as i know it can be hard to get hold of. Still got couple tins of stage 1 so sticking to that and maybe will change over x
Thanks ladies.. I read the protein in stage 2 is slightly different to get babies ready for cows milk after 12 months.. I had switched to stage 2 but am considering moving back to stage 1.. purely because we are still on 2 meals a day. The reassuring thing with Kendamil is the price is the same between stage 1 and 2 so not sure what the marketing ploy might be as many people suggest stage 2 is a marketing ploy

Not sure what the marketing ploy is either tbh! All i know is that they cant advertise stage 1 of any brand of formula so thats why they would advertise stage 2/3s so maybe thats the marketing part of it 🤷♀️x either way i think either stage 1 or 2 is fine, think you can get boots points on stage 2 aswell x

I heard that they aren't allowed to advertise stage 1 due to government restrictions, however can advertise stage 2 (this is any brand) hence why you only see follow on milks advertised 🤷♀️ how true this is I don't know, but we usually just buy whichever one is in stock at our local tesco 🤣

I don’t understand how it is a marketing ploy either as I had originally planned to switch straight over to stage 2 as I thought that’s what we needed to do and prices have always been the same 🤣 but after looking at the nutritional differences it seems it’s pretty much only additional iron in the stage 2, and since my little boy has been formula fed since birth his iron stores will most likely last way past 6 months. He’s also very prone to getting constipated so would rather him get his iron from food and keep the milk as it is for now xx
I was told iron stores start to depleat after 6 months... but I do agree that more iron could lead to babies being constipated... I am no expert however... just one confused mumma lol 😆

LG has been on kendamil stage 2 for a week. I subscribed on the website so they automatically moved her up

It’s pretty much all the same stuff. They can’t advertise the first stuff so advertise all the others to boost sales but no real difference so no need to change
