Husband shares fears after BD

We were going to wait for a few months to start trying to get pregnant but I’m still tracking ovulation so that I know when my windows are for when we started trying. My test this morning shows that I’m around 2-3 days away from ovulation and my husband saw it and said let’s try this morning. So we did, but almost immediately afterwards he was afraid of me getting pregnant from that one try because he thinks he would be a bad dad. Have any of you experienced this? I don’t think he’ll be a bad dad at all, and I’m trying to do my best to help him believe that as well. Any advice for a situation like this?

It’s good you’re trying to talk to him about why he’d be a good dad! maybe try exploring his fears, validate them, share your own fears and how you’re right there by him to help him through it.

If you have family or friends with younger kids, try to spend some time with them! Maybe some of his fears come from lack of experience with children. I knew a friend like that - he had never even changed a diaper so it was scary!

It really gets your mind going when it could be real! I want a baby so bad but still have those thoughts every now and then!! It’s not just a little thing!! I think it’s normal to feel that way!
