TMI post! Mucus plug has come out at 26 weeks?!

Hi ladies! I had a bit of a scare, walking home from the station after work i noticed a leak down below, it just felt like lots of discharge. Came home and saw a big yellowish glob of jelly like discharge. After a panicked google it resembled a mucus plug which usually comes out before labour! Should I be worried??

Please call your midwife/ hospital OOH, this should be addressed by a professional just in case it is something serious. Hope all's well and it's just a simple scare. 🫶🤞

apparently it regenerates itself and you should only worry if its blood tinged

If it comes away too early it does grow back, however I’d call triage to be on the safe side, they will be able to provide you with professional advice and reassurance x

Apparently it only can regenerate if small bits come out, that’s what my midwife said!! Be safe mama, get checked by the hospital ❤️ xx

Thanks all. I rang the 24 hour line and they advised I put a fresh pad on and notify them of any more leaks in the next 1-2 hours. Nothing yet and i'm not in any pain so praying its nothing to worry about. Pregnancy is full of scares isnt it!

Also, personal question but have you had sex recently? I get a bit of this the day after I have sex, was worried too the first time then realised that’s what it was from. But yes, either way always worth calling the hospital

No its been about 4 days since i've had sex so I dont think its that. Hopefully it wasn't serious

Hi, I had this a couple of weeks ago and went to my appointment. They done an internal scan to check my cervix and to see if I had an infection but everything was okay, they said it will likely just be pregnancy discharge. Try not to panic, I know it’s hard, but I’m sure everything is fine ❤️
