So I get notifications from snap chat all the time about accounts they think I know to add as friends. Today I got a notification to add a friend that had my husband's number. The user name was his initials with part of his last name and part of his birthday. He's at work and I'm a sahm. I texted him to see if he made an account because he never had one before. He said he didn't make it and that it's a hacker. Am I dumb, or does that sound extremely questionable? Is that a thing that happens? Because now I'm freaking out that my husband is cheating on me, because if it was him why else would he lie about that? Am I overreacting? Wtf?

Am sure you have to authenticate a new account from thephone number provided doll. X

Sounds like BS. Can you check his phone secretly? You can see the last time they downloaded snapchat in the app store (atleast it does for me, I'm android).
He has an android. I can definitely check his phone at some point.

Well I find it questionable on how they know his number, and birthday. You have to authenticate your new account like said. I would check his phone. I’m
Fuck.
What do I do?

Snoop hardcore 😂

Add them. He might not have his story set to “friends only view” and might be able to see his location on SnapMap if he hasn’t made it invisible. But check his phone. And see if it’s there.

Yes, do what Katie said ASAP

You could also have someone else add him. Someone he doesn’t know but you know, a girl you trust. And ya know like see if it’s him and if he tries to talk to them. Or if they can see his story or anything.

Pretty sure the others are correct that you have to verify your phone number. I think recommendations for friends are contacts already in your phone that download the app. He might not be cheating on you but it sounds like he is lying and being shady.
Also, you can look at the profile and tell if it has been active because there is usually "score" or amount of points. I don't use the apo much but I remember that part.
