Nutramigen preparation

My little one has been prescribed Nutramigen LGG for cows milk allergy, it specifically says on the tin to prepare you must boil the kettle and then leave it to cool to room temperature, prior to making up the bottle. This has confused me as I normally make up 1/2 bottle with hot shot (formula and boiled water above 70 degrees) and then cool, store in the fridge and top up the rest with boiling water when needed to get it to temperature. Can anyone advise if I can use this same method or whether I should not do the hot shot… it says on the tin “preparation instructions differ to other formula, please check and follow carefully”

Won’t be very convenient if everytime I make a bottle I have to boil the kettle and allow it to come to room temperature beforehand. Any advice would be great 😊

You can put in the fridge put don’t put the formula in the hot shot, they say not to as it kills the good bacteria that is in it x

I just wanted to make sure as I know the hot shot is to kill the bacteria and I didn’t wanna not do this just incase but thank you for the info:)

I assume adding boiling water to the pre prepared 1/2 that’s in the fridge to get it to temp won’t affect this? Since the formula has already been dissolved etc x

You can still use this method to get the water to the room temperature - mix cold water from the fridge with some freshly boiled water and add the formula afterwards. Don’t use boiling water once the Nutramigen is mixed - it will still kill the good bacteria.

I just prep my bottles for the day, putting the boiling water in then let them
Cool / Put one in a bath of cold water if I need it asap. Easiest formula to make ever 😂 but no hot shots as it ruins the composition of it!

how do you heat bottles in the night once they’re cold and in the fridge? I have a bottle warmer machine but it takes soooo long!

I don’t, luckily mine takes hers room temp! I just leave the bottles on the side (just with the boiling water in them) and add the formula to the room
Temp boiled water whenever she wakes up for a feed. You could always fill it up a few oz let them Cool and keep a flask of boiling beside you to top it up an oz or so to warm slightly!

So for instance right now I’ve got 3x 7oz bottles of cooled boiled water on my bedside table which I will just add the formula to when she wants her feed, but if I wanted it warm I would maybe do a 6oz bottle and top it up with 1oz of boiling to
Make it warmer!

makes sense! Thank you so much xx

Yeah this one had to be made with cooled water the hot shot kills the good bacteria in the milk. When my little girl was on it i literally boiled the kettle in the morning and filled all her bottles for the day with how many oz she had then when she had one just added the milk powder it made it so easy ☺️

I’ve always made nutramigen with my prep machine and never had an issue x

I’ve always made them like Emma if using the kettle, just make the bottles with the water then add powder when needed. Or if I’m using our prep machine I do hot shot, cold shot then powder at the end xx

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Pumping advise

FTM to a 2 week old! I’m breastfeeding and then giving one formula bottle last in the evening before bed. I want to start expressing milk to give me some breathing room and also allow my partner to be more involved in feeding. I’m finding the idea of introducing pumping into my day quite overwhelming though. I don’t want to take milk away from my baby by pumping if he needs it during the day when being breastfeed.

Can anyone advise how I start pumping and when to do it? Thank you!

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
