I’m autistic

I don't have a child with autism, but I am autistic myself

My 20 year old daughter was diagnosed with Asperger’s when the DSM still considered it to be its own diagnosis about 12 years ago, she’s very high functioning but still has her days lol

Both here

Hello everyone 😊 iam still learning the world of autism, our son is 6 and level3 severe autism is how his docs explained it to us...he is non verbal and just started saying small words every now and then, will sign certain things but his aggression and extreme moods is what makes people walk the other way. We just now are able to get him in therapies so he can have the same chance as everyone else.for now I've lost so many friends and alot of family. But he is every bit our miracle baby 💚 just wanna do better for him and gain meaningful friendships along the way 😊 apologies ahead of time,Iam still learning alot when it comes to autism.

My whole family have Autism x

Autism runs in my family and I actually work ABA Therapy with autistic children for a living!

eww ABA

Sensory is HUGE for them… look into sensory activities… having a whole sensory room would probably really help him at 6!!!

We have him in aba at school, aba has worked wonders, but we need the aba therapy outside of school too,I have bought him soooo much sensory stuff,he breaks everything tho when he gets frustrated with them,so most are broken...he has a projector tv that we attached to the ceiling and put a permanent large board on the wall for a screen cause he tips tvs over. He is so smart tho,he can be the sweetest most loving child.

He also has to share a room with his 12 yr old brother,so we couldn't do a full sensory room,he does have a sensory table I made, with knobs, buttons, pull strings and such, that calm him some and teach him at the same time😊. He loves water,so this summer we're making the front yard a small water park for him, hopefully that gives him more to do, he can't stand being in the house long, he has to be moving. wintertime is alot of trips to Walmart, our bass pro shop, almost an hour away, anything that doesn't involve sitting long.

My son is autistic and possible adhd. I'm in the UK but my inbox is always open

@darianne do you know of other therapies or strategies that would be better than aba,in helping with aggression, understanding and being able to cope and learn to thrive...I honestly am open to suggestions in that area,we just want more for our son and are willing to find different ways to help him that would benefit him most into adulthood.

🙋🏻♀️ but my son is only 2.5
