Can anyone advise the best methods for prepping formula for leaving the home? I’m 11 days PP and still haven’t left the house!

Room temperature water bottles and a shaker bottle this way it will break down formula

I found it easier using the pre made milk in little bottles for outings. Pour and go, my lo takes it at any temperature though. I have a friend who uses a nuby rapid cool and absolutely swears by it too 😊

Im also a ftm i buy pre made formula for when we go out can be abit expensive but it save me the worry and stress of having to make one when out may be an option till you get the hang of things x

I use a flask and nuby rapid cook and it’s so easy

What brand are you using?
We buy small premade bottles, so we can just open it when out pour it in, and we are done. Most places have warms around, so you can warm it up if needed x

I only use formula as a back up, but I typically keep a bottle of water, an empty bottle, and premeasured formula powder in snack size ziploc bags in her bag. She'll drink it at room temp unless it's cold out. In that case, I prep the bottle and ask for hot water to heat (if I'm in a restaurant).

We used to use premade but over a longer period of time, I can see the difference financially so got nuby rapid cool and it’s amazing

I can’t see the point of using it with breast milk really as the whole point of it is to bring the boiling/hot water to a drinkable temperature in a few minutes. I can’t imagine a situation where your breast milk will be hot??

I use a flask and take the powder measured out in little tubs. I’ve also got some bottles of ready made in my bag just in case x

Nuby rapid cool 100%. It was a game changer with my first. I also used it for the night feeds so I don't have to run up and down to the kitchen.

@Corinne i was breastfeeding my first born at first. When I expressed and stored it in the fridge, I used portable bottle warmer.

Ah, I used MyBambini's one

You should buy milk powder dispensers, and flask.
What I do is;
I fill the dispensers with enough scoops of formula, I got the tommee toppee ones. Fill the flask with medium warm boiled water so it's a little warm when youre ready to make the milk 😊

Insulated bags are also great. Just fill your milk bottles with warm water, it should be warm enough when you're ready to make milk for LO. X

There's variety of these, but these are the ones I got x

I just have a thermos flask that I put hot water in and then the formula holders for the powder. Then just mix it up as and when I need it

I use formula as supplement but we just pre-measure the water in the baby bottle to 3 oz and take a small can of formula in the diaper bag. Scoop it in there, mix it up and done. But we never warm the water for my son. He will take it any temp. He’s 4.5 weeks

My little boys 2 weeks today, I take a flask of boiled water and a flask of cool boiled water with formula pots x

I know you shouldn’t do this but I make bottles up and then just warm it up in a bottle warmer and add the milk

Here if you need a chat, unsure how it's affecting yourself but my anxiety was through the roof about the bottles that I didn't leave the house too and all I could of done with was someone to talk to about it XX

I take out a mini flask of hot water, a bottle of cooled boiled water, some pre measured formula in little pots and sterilised baby bottle. If making a 4 ounce bottle for example, I'll pop the formula and an ounce of the hot water in the sterilised bottle and mix (this will kill off any bacteria in the formula) then top up the rest with the cooled boiled water and it will be a good temp to give to baby straight away. We have a prep machine at home and this basically replicates this whilst we are out and about

Pre made or get a nuby rapid cool- there is also a hack so you can reuse without washing and sterilising

in the UK powder has to be added to water 70° and above x

this is what we do and it works so well for us :)

what’s the hack?

so you measure the hot water in the bottle that you need, add 2/3s of that to the nuby rapid cool. Add the powder to the hot water left in the bottle. Then add the cooled water to the feedm perfect temp and only booked water has been in the flask so you don't need to sterilise just wash it and sterilise once a day xx
