Elective Section

Hi! Just wondering what everyone’s experience of elective section was? Was your midwife reluctant beforehand or try to convince you otherwise and what about recovery? Thanks ☺️

I can't comment on the midwife as I elected to have it when my Labour wouldn't establish after three days! As soon as I said to the midwife in the ward she spoke to the consultant and they were happy for me to go ahead with it.

The recovery was no where near as bad as I thought it would be... keep on top of pain Relief, take it easy as much as you can for as long as you can! X

My elective section (well baby was bum down so my decision was made for me) went really well. I tried the turning procedure but he refused to move 🤦‍♀️

The staff in the PRM are fantastic both before and after the section. 100% agree with Adele, keep on top off of you pain meds and get moving as soon as you can x

Reading mixed things online saying that we can’t get them done bc the pulse reader? Just wanting to see if they actually really care x

Hormone drip

I’m being induced on Wednesday, with my first baby I was induced but I can’t remember if I had the hormone drip as I was so out of it from gas and air and pethidine.

Can I refuse it this time? As I’ve heard it makes contractions more painful, or can I say if I do need the hormone drip, I will need an epidural can the 2 coincide?

christening/naming ceremony

did anyone have a christening or naming ceremony for their little one? what would you recommend? my boy is 2 months old so i’m not thinking right this second but i want to do something for him. i was baptised as a baby although i don’t follow a religion as of current. it will be my family and friends attending as the father isn’t involved, but that still adds up to a pretty decent turn out. what was everyone’s experiences? tell me everything!
