Hospital Options

Hey! Would love people's opinions: the hospital in GV doesn't have a NICU, which i didn't know until yesterday. I'm trying to decide if it is better to continue my original plan of giving birth at SNMH with my OB delivering, or switch to a hospital in Roseville with a NICU and someone i don't know will deliver the baby. I'm planning to have a scheduled c-section, if that's relevant. What do y'all think? What was more important to you when you gave birth?

Hello! My sister in law delivered in Sacramento/Carmichael at Mercy San Juan. Their NICU is amazing. She had a planned c section too.

I switched to Sutter Health Roseville 5 months into my pregnancy, best decision for me given there were abnormalities and could not get a OBGYN in NC/GV to talk to me about risk or anything. When I got my new OBGYN she said that she wasn't sure why they told me my baby was under 10% since the chart said differently, which I never saw because they didn't provide me with a copy or really had a discussion. I continue to drive all the way to Roseville for my OBGYN.

Our hospital does have a nicu but it’s a level 1 super basic. So if baby was born with problems that they couldn’t handle due to equipment they would transfer baby to another hospital. I’ve delivered all my kids here (5) and am expected to deliver in 2 months here as well

Hi, I had a c-section and my twins stayed a month in the NICU at Sutter Roseville. Had an amazing experience (given the circumstances) and cannot say enough good things about the NICU itself and their amazing staff of nurses.

I highly recommend Sutter Roseville. The hospital here is just not very well equipped for unexpected emergencies. I’ve had 3 babies and I have experiences with both Sutter and SNM and can’t recommend Sutter enough. If you need a Sutter doctor Dr. Scates is out of this world amazing. He delivered 2 of my 3 and very likely saved mine my son’s life.

Anaesthesia appointment

Hi!
Ive been given an appointment with a consultant and it just says anaesthesia appointment. Does anyone know what this could be for? Everyone I know who’s had babies recently said they never had this appointment and no ones said anything to me at any appointments.

Am I being dramatic

I posted a couple days ago about losing my plug throughout the day in big chucks and I had no contractions or tightenings just kept coming out. Since last night I haven’t been able to sleep because of nausea and pain in my stomach and back, I’ve gone to the toilet about 6 times, could this be my body clearing itself? I didn’t have any pain this morning but since i’ve been relaxing i’ve had tightenings right down in my pelvis, some painful some not. I’m 36+3 so have been advised by midwife to call if i have tightenings but i wouldn’t say they’re regular so I don’t know whether i just monitor it or call them? I hate calling and it turning out to be nothing 🙈 It’s my second pregnancy but was induced the first time round so I never experienced this!

Post C-section.

So I’m 9 days PP today.
I’m still quite sore and heavy at my scar site. I daren’t bend to pick things up still & I’m still walking around the house/stairs slowly. Don’t feel comfortable unless I’m taking pain relief & also don’t want to leave the house as the car journey is way too bumpy & uncomfortable 😩
Is anyone else at a similar stage?
Does this all sound normal?

36 weeks

I have been experiencing period pains that come and go since about 11:45am and now they seem to just be there like a dull period pain constantly? Anyone else experienced this? Is it worth a call to triage?
