Brain Cancer Survivor

My story goes like this .. in 2016 I was rear ended with someone going almost 45mph. I suffered with a concussion. About a month later I spontaneously lost feeling on half of my body. Went to the ER where they preformed an MRI and noticed a gray spot in the front region of my brain which they assumed it was bruising of the brain from my car accident but recommended I go in for another MRI within 3 months to be sure. Well I don’t recall my neurologist mentioning that or trying to schedule me for that. Over the next 7 years I was suffering with focus and memory issues I was feeling extremely fatigued was also experiencing extreme personality changes and my primary care Dr would just order hormone test and say everything looks good 🤦🏻‍♀️ fast forward to New Year’s Eve 2022 I was involved in another car accident. After this accident my symptoms got progressively worse. I went to my family doctor and told him I needed another MRI to make sure I don’t have any permanent damage to my brain from the car accidents. The first MRI showed that the gray spot on my brain from 2016 had grown and was actually a tumor. I was then referred to OSU neurosurgeons to schedule surgery for removal. I had surgery on April 14th. And found out 2 weeks later it was a cancerous tumor. The oncologist believes he got it all out and decided to wait till July to do another MRI to see if I’ve had any changes or if it’s coming back. The waiting is the hardest 😭

The waiting is absolutely the hardest. Scanxiety is also a very real thing. I’ve been cancer free for almost 18 months, getting CT scans every 3 months to check for recurrence, and I get nervous before every scan. There are a lot of ‘what-ifs’ especially in the beginning, but you’ll eventually find your new normal. I know it’s a lot easier said than done, but try really hard not to worry until you have something to worry about. It’s good news for now! Enjoy the good times and keep up with your scans. ❤️

@Ashley any update? How are you doing?

Thank you for asking 🥹 It’s been a year since my surgery and I’m doing great! 🥳 I’ve had no radiation or chemo 🫶🙌 and I feel like I was granted a second chance at life so I’ve been making the most of it ❤️👏 I started a business, went on an overseas solo trip, currently writing a book about my story, and preparing to start a podcast 😎 I have to much life to live for to allow cancer to win 🙅🏻‍♀️

Scan needed at 33 weeks

Hi ladies! I just had a midwife appointment (I am 33+5)..the midwife was different to my usual midwife. She's requested I have a scan within 72 hours as she said baby is measuring a little small, however, she did say that it's likely nothing to worry about and it's probably just her measuring me a bit different to my usual midwife. Has anyone else had this? Am a bit worried although babys heartbeat and movements are completely fine.

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient 😂🥲

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?
