First midwife appointment

Hi, I am 7 weeks today, according to the apps and my first midwife appointment isn’t until the middle of June, and it’s only a telephone appointment. Apparently I’ll have another appointment a week or so after that. By that point I’ll be almost 10 weeks, which seems far to long to go without seeing anyone or having any tests/scans. Has any one else had to wait this long?xxx

Im 9 weeks today and aint seen one person or a scan my first scan is on the 29th June and ill be 13 weeks apparently this is whats happening

NHS say your first appt should be around 10 weeks. In both of my previous pregnancies it’s been when I’ve been between 9-10 weeks. Totally normal and nothing to worry about- they can carry out all the necessary tests at 10 weeks. Your first scan can be anywhere between 11-14 weeks.

My midwife rang me last Wednesday, after 3/4 weeks since I self referred. I went in for my blood tests Thursday (7W6D) and my booking appointment is June 8th (9W6D). My first scan isn’t until June 23rd (12W). I have paid for early scans as I couldn’t go three months without confirmation 😅

Generally your first midwife appointment is between 8 and 12 weeks but 10 is the standard and then you have a scan around 12 weeks and another around 20 weeks Here's a breakdown of what you should have and when https://www.nhs.uk/pregnancy/your-pregnancy-care/your-antenatal-appointments/

@Lindsay I have my first appointment, they called me to book it in. But it’s only a telephone appointment. They said they’d book me in for the initial tests etc at that appointment.

@Sarah Louise did you get a letter through the post for scan? Xx

@Kimmy yes i got a letter through the post but i did have to self referral myself xx
