I’m choosing to wait until birth to find out the gender however I’m wondering if anyone has anything neat that I can refer to it as instead of “it”. “It” just seems so non human and non personal and I think the word is affecting my bonding.

I know a lot of people use cute nicknames but my kids were "The Blob" and "Cletus the Fetus" before they had names 😅

I’ve always called my baby’s “the baby” or “they” I also never liked calling the baby’s “it” so yeah lol

I called my oldest "they" before we knew gender but then everyone kept thinking I was having twins 😂 he got nicknamed Hatchling instead. My second was just baby/the baby. I felt bad he didn't get a nickname but nothing ever stuck. I think using a nickname definitely helped me bond with my first baby before birth a lot easier

I waited until birth to find out the gender of our baby. Hubby and I referred to our unborn as "mini me" or punchanella

First baby was little bean or baby bean, second automatically became ‘the baby’ as our first was still 1, they were both never called it and called they instead but people did assume that meant twins 😬

I say they or call them baby bean

We used "baby biscuit" for the first and with my current pregnancy we're going with "baby bread". Basically any baked goods

Our first was titch, nicknamed by my hubby and he is now calling this one titch too. I often just use baby, bubba, little bean or titch x

Just “baby” for now :)

I called mine the spawn

I always called mine “baby” or “the baby” before I found out the gender

I had a nickname for mine when he was in the womb. I actually adopted the same habit with my second, but I found out the sex of my second. We had a surprise with my first.
