Hi all,
My husband and I are pretty torn about circumcising our newborn. He is Jewish and I'm not (which challenges our kids status as Jewish for some denominations), but we're raising our kids Jewish and it's really important to us that they grow up with a sense of Jewish identity. Any families here who decided not to circumcise? Would you be open to sharing your experiences? Thanks so much!

Hi, firstly I commend you for committing to raising your kids as Jews. It's a beautiful gift to give them 💗.
So my husband and I are both Jewish and we chose not to circumcise our son. My parents are very traditional and were really upset that we chose not to.
We decided against it because, according to health research, there's no benefit, an increased risk of infection from the surgery, no anaesthesia given, decreased sensation and often pain associated with it. We thought it is not right for us to decide on an irreversible body modification and our son can always choose a circumcision when he's 18+.
Just my thoughts.

Hi, my husband and I are Jewish, we chose to circumcise :) i still would prefer a hospital circumcision if possible though..
