Infacol

Has anyone tried infacol and had it just make their baby worse?
I did think my baby's wind was that bad but a friend said he seemed to be struggling, I got paranoid and tried it out and it has made my little one so much worse!

Infacol def didnt work..we back on dentinox

Yes! It’s ok for colic but if your babe has even the slightest of reflux it makes it worse!

how did you get omeprazole? My GP said it isn’t licensed in under 1’s and gave us lansoprazole 😮‍💨

My HV said there is no evidence it works. I stopped using it as I thought it was making my little boy sicky 😫

@Laura I didn't know that. The Dr in the Children's ward prescribed it to my LO, she has omprazol. Then the community team said that she is able to have bigger doses than what she came out if hospital with.

But this is really interesting. What is the lansoprozole like? Is it chalky? Does your little one take it well? My little one hates the omprazol and I think she gets so distressed having it it's counterproductive.
The community nurse also said that omprazol either works really well or is completely useless.

Yep I deffo think it's the reflux 🤦, I felt so awful making him worse! I will keep an eye on it as usually he's not bad so didn't think about going to the docs. It's so awful when they are in pain isn't it!

I’m not 100% sure - the GP cannot prescribe it but as far as I am aware a paediatrician can.

The lansoprazole is a nightmare. It’s a tablet you disperse in water and he needs 1/4 of one. I use a pippette like the one from the infacol bottle & give it to him with that which makes it easier. Not sure what form of omeprazole you have but I know it comes in a liquid which is super easy to administer maybe you could ask for that!

my gp prescribed the omeprazole to us and he’s only 9 weeks old x

Avatar

@Laura it's the liquid she has its so chalky. It sounds like it gets 'claggy' in her throat. If you know what I mean.
That makes sense about the paediatrician though! X

Avatar

Yeah!! At first it was ok but think it increased the bubbles!

this is so frustrating! I don’t understand why some people can get it off the GP and others can’t. I’m having so much trouble yet I have heard a handful of people who have had it prescribed! Has it made a big difference for your little one?

Avatar

@Laura I had a call from my GP yesterday to review LOs and they said as GPs they don't like to prescribe it and also would only let babies have it for short term. They have taken my LO off of it now. She had it for 3 weeks.

Having to take baby everywhere

Do people take their babies with them to hairdressing appointments ? I’m desperate to get my hair done but my 4.5 month old is literally glued to me 🤣 she feeds every 2 hours so I can’t really leave her with any yet !

What would you do?

So I've just seen a profile on here of a mum who commented on a post and being nosy as I am I just clicked on her photo and can't stop thinking that her son has a lot of features of a baby with Sanfilippo syndrome.
I have never spoken to her or matched or anything.
Would you tell her? Just in case she doesn't know or hasn't heard of this?
If you were her, would you like to know?

Toddler wont have a bath, help!

My 2 year old has pooped twice in the bath within days of each other. Which ive had to take them out quickly because their poo very quickly comes out of its poo formation and disintergrates. They cant go back in because it takes 45 minutes to get it all out..... ive not panicked when it happed just went mummy cuddle towel time. But they now wont have a bath and screams poo, poo. Toilet. No! And has the biggest melt down. They wont have a shower they hate water over their head and its a two person job in a shower. At the moment ive tried just putting them in an empty bath fully clothed to play ( which sometimes theyll accept). They wont go in with a nappy or with a swim nappy on. They used to love a bath sooo much and i feel so guilty that ive made them terrified of a bath. What else can I try? Im a single mum.

SLEEP WHEN BABY SLEEPS.. or not 🤷🏽‍♀️

So my sister sent me this picture today and I found it quite funny because this literally sums up my life lately! I have been sooooo tired because I was not following the “sleep when baby sleeps” rule and I realised I was not doing myself any favours so I now take that rule very seriously and make sure I get some sleep at every given opportunity!

Have you been sleeping when baby sleeps or are you doing everything BUT sleeping?

Don’t worry this photo was taken at my parents house with everyone present so baby girl was more than safe sleeping on me before the parenting police try and come for me🙃
