97th percentile

Has anyone been told they’ve crossed the 97th percentile? I have to have a growth scan tomorrow but just concerned with how quickly it seems to have changed and unsure what happens if it’s correct and I do have a big baby!

I had this with my last baby. My growth scan showed he was a big baby and above the top line. i was given a diabetes test but that was negative then I was offered induction or c section at 39 weeks and he was born at the 97th centile x

I was measuring 2 weeks ahead on the 97th centile at 28 weeks when first measured, had a growth scan same week and baby is 50th centile so perfect - the measurements using a tape measure are really inaccurate so don’t worry!

My little baby is on the 110th percentile, I have a scan Friday to find out if he’s stayed on that line or dropped down. I do have type 2 diabetes though, if he’s more than 110th percentile il be induced anywhere from 36- 37 weeks, if he stays on it or drops I can go to 38-39 weeks x

Ahh thanks guys, I was tested for gestational diabetes as my mum is type 1 but I was negative. Just strange to see such a big difference in a short amount of time but I guess I’ll have to wait till the scan! X

I was measuring two-three weeks ahead and I was tested for diabetes. I now have a diagnosis of gestational diabetes and have serial scans. Remember scans are an estimate. Any deviations from baby’s movements then phone your maternity triage. Try not to worry x

If this was a fundal height measurement... they are notoriously inaccurate. Especially when you have different midwives doing them each visit.
Usually a scan is more accurate and they correct the graph.

Mine has been all over the place since 28 weeks. I’ve had different midwives measuring differently and 2 growth scans which shows baby jusy over the 50th percentile. After my last measurement they didn’t refer me to another scan as the last two showed he was growing at the right rate. It’s silly as it causes lots of anxiety when most of the time it’s inaccurate!

I have this my baby is currently growing on the 97th centile, did you opt for induction or C-section in the end? I'm trying to decide

Avatar

I went for induction! I really didn’t want a c section if I didn’t need it, purely for the recovery, and luckily I was already 3cm dilated so induction wasn’t too bad a process

So had the scan today and they were totally wrong! He’s actually 50th percentile and measuring 4lb1oz 🤣 thanks for all the replies guys xx

I honestly don't know why they still do fundal height measurements 🤷‍♀️😂

purely to put the fear of god in us I think 🤣 xx

I went for my growth scan today and baby is still 110th percentile and 6lb3 at 33 weeks 😂xx

11 weeks pp and pregnant?!

Im absolutely shitting myself, me and my partner have been so carefull (we use condoms and he also pulls out) but im late on my period and i cant get to the shop for a few days due to no car and im thinking im possibly pregnant. When i was pregnant before the animals were different the dog became more protective of me and the cat hated me and always tried to bite me. and they have recently been the same. Im trying to think if i have any possible early symptoms so i can convince myself im not 😂 the only thing i have is feeling sick alot and nauseous lol.

Leaking waters?

I’m 35 weeks today wooo but… every morning for the past two weeks I’ve woken up with a palm sized water mark in my pants! - no smell, no pain and unaware of it happening…

I thought it might be leaking waters so got it checked out but the midwife said it was might be urine/watery discharge! - but it’s still happening.. thoughts? 💭🫶🏻

Pelvic girdle pain and birth

I have been experiencing awful pain. More so recently. I'm now using crutches to get around but it's more painful at night and when I lay down or sit down. I'm worried about birthing. I've got other issues and baby boy is estimating 8pounds at 36 weeks. I've been booked in for an induction 9 days prior to my due date. Surely he's going to be even bigger and I just don't feel like I've had any birth discussions in detail really. Ive only seen midwife twice and each time I've seen a consultant it's someone different. Has anyone else experienced awful pelvic pain and birthed a big baby?

Upcoming C-section.

So I’ve decided to go for an elective C-section, I know it’s the right choice after months of deliberating but I’m soooooo nervous.

I’ve had 2 very complicated births. I kinda know what to expect from the recovery as I had an emergency section with my first but I just feel nervous about being awake during it & what it feels like.. I’ve heard they strap your arms down and I’m scared of something going wrong.

I know every experience is different but if you’re happy to share what your elective was like for you (good and bad) id be very grateful. I feel really unprepared!
