Avatar

We are also paying £450 for embryoscope so wanted save as much as possible on the meds

Avatar

What meds would that be? Don’t all prescriptions cost £9.35?

Avatar

these are private prescription drugs hun so they cost way more.

The hospital give you a private prescription then you choose where you get them from.
The cost is really high, 1 supermarket pharmacy quoted over £1000 and 1 quoted just under for all the meds i need

Only problem with Asda is you can only buy fyremadel in box of 5 xx

Check with fertility2u as well. The only thing is there is a delivery fee, so if you only want a couple of bits it’s cheaper to go to an in person pharmacy. You have to upload your prescription and it will give you a quote, so it’s easy to check their price.

Stork is another company that you can get prescriptions from too.

I know they are, I am going through IVF my self.
I get mine from the fertility clinic delivered by stork.
Am sure no matter where you get your meds from it will still cost the same as it’s still the same product.

Avatar

that's not the case, they cost different from different companies. Are you having NHS treatment?

Avatar

I am. But I also have to pay for certain medication myself.
I have also looked into doing full privet ivf as well.

Avatar

so with private treatment you don't get charged a set prescription fee at the pharmacy like NHS treatment, each individual medication is itemised and you pay for them all. Some clinics provide the medication through their preferred supplier so you have to pay them, some clinics charge you for a prescription (about £100-150 I've seen from some places) and then you can take that prescription to any pharmacy you choose. My clinic say you have to buy through their preferred supplier, but it is price matched to asda who are the cheapest.
