When does the anxiety stop.

At every stage of being pregnant it can be hard to keep the anxiety at bay. As an IVF mum, my anxiety started even before conception.

1. The dreaded 2 week wait, where you have to wait to see if your embryo transfer was successful.

2. Then the 4 week scan to see if they still survived and that you are really pregnant.

3. Then if you are unlucky, dealing with first trimester symptoms.

4. Then dealing with headaches, high blood pressure, protein in urine ……. Basically in and out of triage freaking out about pre eclampsia.

5. Then freaking out that you should be able to feel the twins yet all you have is gas and indigestion.

6. Then the anxiety of the 20 week scan………..
Getting the scan and dealing with results and baby gender. Are you happy? Are you not happy?

7. Finally feeling the twins move especially now you know exactly where they are laying.

8. 3 days later you are now freaking out that maybe twin 2 is not moving as much. 🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️

Omg if it’s not one emotion, it’s the other. And I’m only half way thru. Bloody Nora!!!

Oh and I forgot itchy nighttime feet.

You know what it is an emotional rollercoaster! I had my 20 week scan today and we found out the gender. I'm not disappointed but it just suddenly feels more real and so i feel anxious about it! Seems strange but i think every stage is alot to process and there's so much info being thrown at us too!

couldn’t relate more! i was so exited to be pregnant once it sank in but the anxiety of the sickness (i have emetaphobia) sank in and then worrying i’m over working my body, the early stages of pregnancy, my 12 week scan, 20 week scan, wondering if baby is okay in there all the time, wondering if she isn’t moving as much or why she has stopped like it’s so much anxiety x
