I have 4 & 2 year olds and want to start new traditions this year. We already do Christmas Eve box. Could be on the day or any time during the holidays big or small ✨❤️

We do a walk and pub lunch on Christmas Eve and when we get back the Christmas Eve box is there. We try to see Santa closer to Christmas too rather than weeks b4 as it feels more Christmasy that way. We don’t live near family so we see them on the lead up to Christmas and spend Christmas Day at home just the 4 of us x

We spend the night in the livingroom watching Christmas films then wake up nice and early all together and open all the gifts xx

Baking. Christmas films. Xmas eve we always go for a drive and see the Xmas lights and have a Burger King for dinner. We usually visit Santa.

From Canada- what’s a Christmas Eve box?

We do Christmas Eve box visit santa and my little girl who’s turned 3 this year loved looking at the lights last year so we will be doing that again this year x

First I take my kids to order our Christmas meat from the butcher and he gives them a sausage each to make for breakfast the morning after 🤣 The last weekend in November we go to a farm shop and decoration warehouse and buy things like Boxing Day chutneys, and a few new decorations. The 2nd weekend in December we go to a tree farm and choose our tree together, then on the Sunday we spend the day decorating the house with loads of Christmas music on. On the 3rd Saturday, we go for a family brunch with my family (our favourite day) and then walk around London and look at the lights. On Christmas Eve Eve we go and collect the meat from the butcher and go for a walk and a coffee, then on Christmas Eve we start cooking and have a port and cheese night! The kids get a Christmas Eve box with pyjamas and a few treats in and they watch a Christmas film with a hot chocolate while we stuff our faces 😂
So many traditions but they are all so special!

I'm planning on doing a December box this year, so I will put it out beginning of December and it will have christmassy related activities in he can access throughout December such as Christmas baking or coloured sensory rice, Christmas scented playdough like cinnamon and stuff, christmas colouring pictures, probably a pair of Xmas pj's too but then he can wear them throughout Dec, Xmas books. Some of it such as the books I can then reuse each year too

it’s a box that we give to our kids which has pyjamas, a hot chocolate stirrer and marshmallows, a giant mug, a book, and a Christmas teddy or toy in it… quite a new tradition I think, but super cute!

We make a Christmas pudding together in November (stir up Sunday is 26th Nov this year) and everyone in the family stirs it and makes a wish. My husband drinks the other half of the Guinness can that goes in the pudding 😂
We always read ‘‘twas the night before Christmas’ on Christmas Eve. That’s all so far

so cute!

so cute! I love a good winter walk & pub lunch, like that one ✨❤️

as in sleep downstairs camping out in the living room?! That sounds awesome!

that’s cute! There’s not tons of lights near us but I love that idea.

it’s a box the children open on Christmas Eve. Normally has pjs, hot chocolate stuff, a x as movie to watch together or book to read. We also do a “magic key” for Santa as we don’t have chimney and “ reinderr food” (oats and glitter in a glass jar). Maybe a special plate to leave Santas treat that sort of thing. We got a personalised box.

great ideas ! What’s in the activity box?

the lights are so precious sent they?

wow these are so good!! Love it x x

aww great ideas on the activities. Yes I reuse most bits in the Xmas Eve box. I love the fun of it but don’t want it to be an excuse to spend more money unnecessarily 🥰

❤️❤️ we always do the pudding wish too. My dad would be the one drinking the Guinness. This will be my first Christmas without him. Thank you for reminding me how much I love that tradition though. Happy memories ❤️❤️

oh those are some cute ideas thank you!

yeah, me and my husband have done it every year we have been together. Last year we had our little girl in her next to me cot with us. We watch my favourite films too. The grinch (Jim Carey one ) polar express and elf

aww wow I love that! How magical for kids to be allowed to stay up and sleep on the sofa on Christmas night! Impractical as they get older of course but it sounds like every child’s dream! And what a sweet tradition to start with your husband. ❤️

it’s super busy but most of them are actually things I did with my parents as a child, so I still do them with them and now my kids join in as well! 🥰 best time of the year isn’t it!

yes it is! That’s so special ❤️
