So when i was pregnant and we decided on the name Evelyn some family members didn’t seem all that keen and me being a worrier and over thinker used to feel the need to defend our choice by saying “or if she wants to for short she could be Evie”.
Since being born we have only ever ever referred to her as Evelyn but a few family members exclusively use Evie and it really bothers me 😅 my mother in law has picked up on this (without me having to say) and she corrects people - they wonder why our LG doesn’t respond to Evie, a few have started to use just Evelyn but there’s a couple who still insist on saying Evie. How (without offending!) do I politely say it’s Evelyn? 😂
Literally lay in bed thinking about this 🤦🏽♀️ such an over thinker but it bothers me as it’s not her name 😂

Just tell them just as you said above she does not understand who Evie is can you please call her Evelyn
❤️ I’m such a big baby. I’ll have to just say it won’t I 😅 thank you xx

So, we decided that we weren't going to tell anyone the baby's name until the announcement of his birth.. (Kody)
So my dad decided to call him Baby Geoff whilst I was pregnant.
Kody is now 1yr, and my dad still calls him Geoff. 🤦🏻♀️
When Kody was about 3 months, he was trying to sit, and he was always bobbling around. So we call him Bobble.
Hearing family members use the name Kody is weird because to us, he's Bobble.
It doesn't bother me what they call him (as long as it's not rude or mean), but I'd tell them if I didn't like it. Xx

Most of the time I hate when people shorten names. Because as a parent you choose a name that you love and it might mean something special to you. So completely get it sis! Definitely say you love her name and want people to call her Evelyn 😁
Controversial opinion maybe but full names have so much more charm than nicknames 😁
thank you 😊 🫶 it’s just a bit awkward isn’t it 😅 clearly others have picked up on it though. I’m going to have to just say arent I 😂
aww that’s cute! 🥹🫶🫶

My girls name is Heidi and her dad calls her bobees ( when he sees her rarely) and she answers to it and I use to call her boo boo still do sometimes and she answers to that also haha but of course she knows her name is Heidi,
If you don’t like it just say her name is…. They can’t be funny about it because it’s the actual name of your child x
that’s cute! I don’t mind like that - like we call her all sorts of little cute names as well as her name but her Grandad insists on Evie and won’t call her Evelyn - to the point where Grandma said to him in front of us all the other day “it’s not Evie it’s Evelyn” and he responded no it’s Evie 🙄

I had a feeling it would of been the grandparent! There so stuck in there ways, but you should of replied “ if you’d like to see her birth certificate her name is Evelyn, just to clarify that’s her name and not Evie” 😂😂
😂😂I wish I had the balls. I’ll get her dad to say it as it’s his side 😂😂

Hahaha yeah you should!! That’s what I would of said haha x

Yes be both of you on the ball and just say it! Lol I know easier said than done especially on partner's side. I keep enough distance to have the freedom to say what I believe is my truth 😁
exactly! If it was my side I wouldn’t think twice 😂 so awkward. I’ll get him in on it and make it our secret mission 😂 thank you xx

May the force be with you! 🙏🏻🎑🚀🌌
