Advice needed on career

I started a new role at my company in April and I am really not liking it, I work entirely alone and feel isolated plus there are numerous targets to hit which is causing stress. A friend who knew how unhappy I was had told me there is a vacancy at her company and her manager seems keen to hire me after discussions with my friend.(My friend doesn't know I'm pregnant yet). This new role will allow me to get into a field I'm very keen on and will train me up so it sounds promising. It will likely be hard to get a role like this which offers training part time after my mat leave. However, I am worried is it too much stress to change jobs when and wonder if should I just suck it up and start maternity leave ASAP which will be January. What do you think? Should I stay or go for it?

I would say discuss with your friend. She seems really keen to help. Tell her about baby. See if they still want you know. And go for it.
It might be initially stressful, but if you're not happy in the long run where you are. That will cause you more stress over this happy next couple months.
Happy mum happy baby 😊

I think you should go for it! You’re in a situation you definitely know isn’t working for you at the moment, and your situation could improve with the new job (kinda feels like the only way is up career wise!). I had a similar decision once re my current job & my concerns about not taking it were very fear based, but I took the job in the end and my fears were unfounded. I also didn’t like my previous job, but felt too scared to move. Looking back, I’m glad I left. I don’t think being pregnant should stop you from applying as you still deserve opportunities & growth and it sounds like they’re keen on you. So you could keep the pregnancy quiet and apply, or if you wanted to, maybe once they offer you the job just let them know before accepting (to get a sense of how supportive they are etc?).

@Emi thanks for your response, I think I have been a bit scared of change on top of having a baby. But I have applied and wait to see what happens!

@Louise thanks I didn't want to tell my friend about the pregnancy as she has been ttc for over 4 years with 2 losses and I wanted to wait until the right time as I know it will be hard for her. I have applied and will just see what happens!

Yay, good luck ā¤ļø

Fair enough ā˜ŗļø just wouldn't want it to cause a rift if she's recommended you for job but she doesn't know you'll be on maternity in months. The boss could blame her when you're not there xx
