It can take a while, don’t do what I did and go in expecting baby to be here on the first day šŸ˜‚ it really upset me because no one told me it could take days!
Try not to be anxious. Be calm and patient xxx

did you stay in hospital the whole time? Xxx

I haven't been through birth yet or an induction but from what I've read on here and from what I've learnt in an antenatal class with the hospital, every lady is different! There are different steps to the process. I've had friends who it took 3 days, and others that had their baby within a day. Try not to panic, you'll be in the safest and best place possible. Good luck mama! X

I had an appointment for induction this morning I got sent home awaiting space on labour ward as they can access my waters.

They gave me a sweep in the meantime I'm 38 weeks xx

They also said the phone call can take up to a week to come x

My consultant told me that due to the different steps it can take up to 4 days to go into labour depending on which step gets you there - because i am classed as high risk i won't be able to leave the hospital until she is born when i go in - my general understanding of the steps as she explained them was ..
1. Non medical pessary which has to stay in for 24 hours before moving to next step
2. If that doesn't work the next pessary will be a hormone that mimics the natural hormone to start labour - has to stay in for 24 hours before moving to the next step
3. An additional pessary like the one above can be used for another 6 hours
4. Being put on a drip version of the hormone - at this point my consultant said i would be classed as being in labour so they wouldn't actually put me on the drip unless there was a midwife available to be assigned to me so that could add to the time i'm in
Hope that helps in some way

I am being induced on Friday at 39 +3. I was induced with my 1st they started at 2130 and he was born at 6am. So it can be quicker. X

I’ve been in hospital since Saturday - had a pessary which brought on contractions but now waiting for a bed on the delivery ward and to have my waters broken. Our midwife was very honest and said it could take up to 5 days but it’s looking more than likely even longer than that. I’m in agony and no idea when I’ll get a bed. 😩

Is this little red bit on my section scar normal? It’s not oozing anything, doesn’t hurt but it’s the only bit on my scar like it so just curious! (19 days PP)
Thank you in advance! 🄰

Help

I was getting pretty painful period cramps and during those, I had painful lower back cramps. I had these on and off for like a few hours so from about 10:30pm to 1am?

I’ve had no show, or anything like that.

Is this braxton hicks or early labour pains?

Early waters/pre term labour?

I can’t get checked until later today unfortunately. I can’t tell if I’m leaking/starting early. I definitely think I’m having braxton hicks yesterday and today.. i have some pain in my back but she is quite low down so hoping it’s just pressure, baby was a little quieter yesterday but she’s back to more normal movements today, but my underwear just seems to get so wet, especially after going to the bathroom. And I honestly can’t work out the smell, I’m pretty sure it’s just discharge/urine leaking but there’s that worry in my mind a little. Are there any other ways to know/check if it could be the start of it all?

Anyone else felt like this?

Hi, I’m 4 months postpartum, little one sleeps through the night and is formula fed, the last week I’ve felt extremely tired and very hungry! Just wondered if anyone else has felt this way/experienced this?
