Has anyone started sleep training and if so, what method are you using, how is it going, and how long did it take you to see improvements?

We're starting this Friday using Ferber but are fully prepared to do standard CIO if it seems like checking in just agitated baby more. What method are you using?

nice! Let me know how it goes! We have a dinner event tonight so I think we will officially start tomorrow using Ferber. I’ve read one opinion that the check ins don’t work well for daytime naps and only agitate baby more so I might do full CIO for naps. We have a pacifier problem so I also think we need to cold turkey the pacifier which I’m dreading….. it’s so hard to hear the crying but I also don’t want to be constantly helping her sleep.

I’m using the taking cara babies method!!

@Kat we also have a pacifier problem so I'm expecting the first 2-3 nights to be rough! But I'm planning to turn the baby monitor sound off and use noise canceling headphones if I can't stick out the crying but my husband is apparently immune to it, so he's gonna keep his ears fully open!

I would never let my baby CIO.
I’m observing her closely and waiting for her to show signs of being sleepy
Then I pick her up, walk into the bedroom and prepare the room for sleeping while holding her. Explaining what I’m doing and telling her it’s time to sleep now.
In the beginning I was holding her, singing humming songs until she gets drowsy.
Then putting her down butt fist, then back and head last. Trying to keep my body close to hers as long as possible
I keep a hand on her chest until she’s back/fully asleep and then walk out the room

Now she’s able to fall asleep by herself so I just pick her up when sleepy, prepare the room with her and put her in her bed
She usually falls asleep within 15-30 minutes

If she’s crying I go back in to settle but this happens very rarely now

I love how many different methods there are for sleep training to fit the needs of different families!

I’ve always been curious about her sleep training method. I follow her for most other things. Is it sort of like the Ferber method where you fade away in timed intervals? I’m just not sure I want to buy her plan yet without knowing what she’s teaching.
