It's all part of varicose veins. Compressions stockings, plenty of fluids and keep your feet up when you can. They improve after pregnancy but might not go away completely x

You should go to triage to rule out an infection.

I’m going through the same situation! Doctors thought it was varicose veins, then didn’t do anything further, so I kept pushing and pushing for someone to check again and they did a clotting screen and my bloods, and they were okay, now they think it’s just ruptured veins in my case, but I’m still pushing as it seems to constantly be in the same area. Call your doctor, and go with your gut feeling ☺️

@Shereen, that's what I meant by "part of varicose veins". Because the blood pools in the legs, they veins swell and can rupture, causing either varicose veins or these random "bruises". All part of the same cause. I've had them for years, but they're so much worse in pregnancy! Absolutely hate them. I've seen them so often in my patients (obstetrician), and they're horrid, but there is nothing we can really do about them apart from compression stockings and empathy. I'm going on holiday tomorrow and dreading having my legs exposed in public.

What can be done after the pregnancy is injections to take away the spider veins if you google removal of spider veins you’ll see how they do it it’s quick
