Throughout my whole pregnancy and life really but worse now being pregnant I have gotten a lot of different advice from doctors to nurses to midwives it’s actually crazy, so I was ill the other day and got tonsillitis dr said to have paracetamol and if it’s worse have ibuprofen (didn’t feel comfortable so never took it) told my midwife today and she was not very happy that I was told to have ibuprofen as it can harm the baby, next my scan person said my baby has a big belly, doctors said they were trying to scare me he is growing average but told me to do another glocuse test anyway, midwife today told me I can cancel it because the baby was average and not so worrying, being told so many different things gets so annoying all the time

Some scans can be in accurate where they might have missed something out but try doing the glucose test again even tho midwive is saying that just for peace of mind and making sure everything is well

I have had exactly the same! Doctor told me to take painkillers etc. midwife was fuming. What makes it better is I’m allergic to pain meds.
Paid for a private scan and they said I’m having a “chunky” baby. Midwife said big. Then average. 🥴 so many opinions it’s baffling

Omg story of my life this has been my whole pregnancy. I trust this peanut app more than the professionals now! Told my OB that my calcium supplements were making me feel sick and she said stop taking them and then saw the consultant a week after who said I absolutely should be taking them once a day. Same with the vaccine, OB said not necessary, consultant said mandatory.

With the scan stuff I would do another glucose test. Because yes scans can show people different things. How baby is positioned and everything. So for that I would take another test. I didn’t have it in my first pregnancy at the time I took the test but then at the end my son had a big belly and was huge and had low sugars so we assumed that I got it later and when it comes to GD I would definitely double check

Your midwife was 100% right on the ibuprofen part, for me I will only take paracetamol unless I'm actually prescribed something else, and even then I would also ask the pharmacist their opinion (they no the drugs and contaraindications better than anyone).
On the scan part, it's literally so up and down. But also, your midwife would only see the charts, scan letters, and fundal measurements, not the actual scan. A GTT wouldn't harm the baby, and if YOU feel you want to double check (always good to really) then I'd keep with it.
I had a scan saying my boy was measuring big/big belly too. GTT negative. Predicted 9lbs 4oz from scan, born 8oz 14oz so they were pretty accurate with that. Whereas I was exactly on track for fundal measurements which would have put him at average.
Obviously not wanting to worry you, but don't feel pressured into doing or not doing something if all it can do is help
