Feeling deflated

I’m 41+1 today first baby and no signs of her coming. I’ve had random period pains at night for the past couple of weeks but nothing during the day. I went for an acupuncture appointment yesterday after reading good things about it helping to induce labour. I left the appointment feeling very hopeful. This morning went for my midwife appointment and had my first sweep but midwife said she was barely able to do it as my cervix was too high up. She could feel the baby’s head but couldn’t do the full sweep properly. It was very painful. I’m now booked for an induction on Saturday where I’ll be 41+5.
I didn’t expect things to go this way at all it’s very disappointing when things don’t go the way you thought they would. I really didn’t want to be induced and wanted things to happen naturally by itself without any intervention. I feel let down by my body. It doesn’t help that friends and family are constantly asking everyday for updates. I have a horrible feeling that the induction is going to end in me having a number of other interventions which I really don’t want. Any advice from mums who have given birth via induction?
Is anyone else in the same boat?

Hiya! I'm in a very similar situation.

Baby was due last week. I was convinced baby would come early - especially with this being my second!

My due date came and went and I'm now 41 weeks + 1 with no real signs of labour starting 😔. I'm soo hot and bothered!!!

Sorry to hear the sweep was painful, I hope it brings on something for you tonight 🤞

I've tried walking, kerb walking, raspberry leaf tea and clary sage oil.

I've got a midwife appointment on Friday where I might ask for a sweep with the hope of avoiding my induction on Sunday.

Hoping we both labour naturally before the weekend!!!

it really is uncomfortable being this far along especially in this heat. Finding it so hard to sleep as well. I’ve tried all the same things as you apart from clary sage. Nothing seems to work. It’s so true when they say baby will come when they’re ready. Very frustrating for us. I hope your appointment goes well on Friday! I have been cramping on and off for the past few hours but I think that might be after effects from the sweep as they don’t feel intense enough to be real contractions and there’s no pattern to them. Sending positive vibes your way really hope labour starts for us in the next couple of days! x

Hi! It's like reading my own situation right here!
I'm 41+5, and I'm totally gutted. My body doesn't seem to want to help him out. I'm being induced tomorrow, which is also what I wanted to avoid, but now it's looking at though I have no choice.

I have tried everything. I have a second sweep today, which is my last chance saloon. I've had cramps on and off for around 2 weeks and really thought it would happen, but maybe this mentality is the reason he's so late?

I feel like a failure! 😪

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Braxton hicks

I’m currently 34 weeks and have been experiencing braxton hicks for the past few weeks however have been having cramps almost like very strong period cramps In my lower stomach. I’ve mentioned this to my midwife and she only really asked if I’d been keeping hydrated and taking my vitamins which I am but didn’t really proceed to tell me if this was normal or related to braxton hicks also, has anyone else experienced this?

Help

I was getting pretty painful period cramps and during those, I had painful lower back cramps. I had these on and off for like a few hours so from about 10:30pm to 1am?

I’ve had no show, or anything like that.

Is this braxton hicks or early labour pains?

Little girl turning herself sideways in next to me

My little girl tonight, has spun herself so she is lying sideways in her next to me, making me panic!

Is this normal at 4.5 months, do I just lie her back normally/vertically?
