Nipt testing?

They say before 14 weeks because the fluid behind the neck is most accurate at detecting chromosomal abnormalities at that time, and can be absorbed by baby in the following weeks, so I would say you want to be seen within the time frame!

October 16th seems late for a first appointment/scan. I had this check done at 12 weeks. I think the Nipt test is usually done before 14 weeks.

okay thank you! that makes sense! i’ll call my obgyn office tomorrow and press the issue and tell them i’m not waiting till my first appointment. It’s sad i haven’t been seen yet and i’ll already be like 17 weeks by then

Hi! I got mine at 12 weeks. And definitely it’s great and really cool and beneficial 🥰 to me I feel like the more knowledge you have the better and it’s really just simple blood work ^_^ also! We were able to find out the gender through the NIPT test which was exciting

i had mine at 12 weeks as well. definitely call the office and see if they can at least do your nipt testing before your appointment. best of luck🤍🤍

That’s a bit late for your first appointment, you will be almost half way there. I would call and press about getting in earlier.

Definitely try to go somewhere else!! I see you’re in Hemet, I know that’s remote so maybe they have a lot of patients… but maybe you could keep that appt and just go to another doctor for an initial appt and NIPT. I was a mess until my 8 week appointment so I can’t imagine how you are feeling!!! They do have ultrasound places you can pay for yourself if you want to just get an ultrasound.

NIPT is blood work and they want enough fetal dna in the maternal circulation for when it’s done. Here in Florida, my OB does it at 10 weeks or more. So 14 weeks should be fine. The nuchal translucency is done with an US around 20 weeks which they measure the amount of fluids around the neck.

I’m 13 weeks and haven’t even got simple blood work done , they’ve only seen me once for confirmation of my pregnancy 🤦🏾‍♀️

I just did mine at 10 weeks

probably look into getting into a different clinic.. that seems like an exaggerated amount of time to wait. you would be about 18 weeks then.. good luck! ♥️

I got mine, it definitely eased my mind, and i got to find out im having a baby boy!! just keep in mind, sometimes insurance won't cover it (i got maternit21 and it was EXPENSIVE!)

my dr said that ultrasound needs to be done 11-13 weeks, anatomy scan is at 20!

Mine recommended to do it at 16 weeks that way all my testing will be done till the diabetes test
