I'm curious to see if anyone else has been prescribed aspirin in pregnancy? My midwife says they recommend to be taking 150mg a day as both my 2 children were small (5lb 15 & 6lb 7) I didn't have pre eclampsia, thankfully. I've just got my prescription so have started taking them today but I'm a little concerned that it could cause some complications, I know it's a low dose I just don't like the thought of it. Anybody else on it currently or have been on it with previous pregnancies & what was you're experience? Thank you 😊

I’ve had aspirin since I was 12 weeks pregnant. I need to take mine until 35 weeks.

I had pre eclampsia in my previous pregnancy and was prescribed asprin as of 12 weeks, but I totally forgot until my midwife appointment earlier this week, she said I still need to take it, I said about the risks and she said the positives outweigh the negatives so its best for me to take it... but I'm still very very skeptical to take it .. so.i totally get you

I’ve took aspirin since 7 weeks due to low bmi and therefore risk of restricted fetal growth. Not sure how much longer I’ll need to take it. So far not had any issues with it (that I know of anyway) x

I was prescribed it in my last pregnancy because I my family history of blood clots. And had absolutely no problems at all on it. However I haven’t been prescribed it this pregnancy as I am not a risk anymore and there requirements have changed to be put on it. But don’t worry it’s perfectly safe😊x

I’m on aspirin and blood thinning injections 🤷🏻♀️

I got prescribed aspirin at my 16 week midwife appointment. I’ve not had any issues with it yet, I’m taking it to increase blood flow to my placenta. I wasn’t too sure about it either but the positives outweigh the negatives 🤍

Been put on aspirin since my first midwife appointment. Gotta take it till 36weeks. Both my boys were 5lb15 & I didn’t have any complications in either pregnancies.
It’s best to take it as all they are doing are making sure baby is getting the blood flow they need, it’s not gonna magically make you have a 7lb+ baby😅
I know I’m also on it as my BMI is high as they wanna make sure they prevent pre eclampsia from happening, but if I’m gonna get it then I’m gonna get it🤷🏻♀️
Thank you everyone you have all put my mind at ease 🙏 If it's potentially going to help baby grow etc then of course I am going to take it I was just curious to see if anyone else is also on it 😀 x

I haven't been prescribed it but my friend had to take it during her pregnancy she didn't have any complications or anything her wee boy is now a healthy 9 month old xx

Yep I was prescribed at my booking appointment to take until 36 weeks, just to make sure the baby is getting all the blood flow they need I'm also on it because of higher BMI x

I am on aspirin and injections 🙏

Yeah I have since 12 weeks but I keep forgetting to take it 🙈

Same here, 150mg a day since 12 weeks, to hopefully minimise chances of pre eclampsia 🤞

I’ve been prescribed since 12 weeks and need to take till 36 weeks.

This is my first pregnancy and I am on it due to my BMI being higher than 30

@Rebecca that's what my friend was prescribed them for I thought I'd get them as mine is over that too but they haven't given me any 😮 I'll need to say at my next appointment x

yeah definitely mention it to them to be on the safe side 😊 x

I swear my consultant put down 1500g at my appointment yesterday🤣

I have also been put on aspirin to increase blood flow to my placenta to ensure baby is being fed properly x

Forgot to say, my sister who's a midwife advises taking it at night for it to be effective, my first midwife didn't mention that (mine is taken to keep pre eclampsia at bay)

Hey! I had Asprin in my first pregnancy from 12 weeks due to medical problems with myself and this time round I took Asprin from the get go at 4 weeks! I didn’t get any side effects at all and in my first pregnancy my little boy weighed 4lbs 12 so they’re trying to make sure this baby has enough blood flow 🥰. Xx
