Gassy newborn - please help

Hi mums, my baby is 4 weeks old and suffers with a lot of gas. Typically has a poo once a day / every other day and is so much calmer afterwards. In the night, she squirms, cries and seems so agitated, especially when farting. Also has a bit of reflux which has got better now we keep her upright after feeding.

What are your thoughts on different bottles, paced feeding and supplements?

She’s formula fed (not out of choice) and I’ve tried both Mam and Nanobebe bottles but can’t tell the difference at the moment. She drinks Aptimel and is taking BioGaia drops. I’m getting mixed messages about paced feeding which is really frustrating.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated 🩷

My little boy is almost 5 weeks now and struggled with the same- in the past week we’ve changed 3 things so can’t say which if any solely have worked but he’s a lot better now…
He was on Aptamil, we’ve changed to Hipp which is a lot smoother/thinner and doesn’t froth as much
Switched from MAM bottles to the Tommy tippee anticolic (the ones with the straw thing) - only issue is my little one ends up with milk all down his chin because the teat is so different to the mam ones
Started using dentinox instead of infacol- this definitely helps as he’s a lot more gassy after the feeds where we don’t give him this

Also burping mid feed seems to help a lot, and getting him up and burping again if he’s squirming after we put him down for a nap (basically I spend 80% of my day burping him🤣

Like I said, I can’t really recommend anything because we changed so much at the same time, but hope this gives you some ideas to think about/research!

My little girl was having the same problems. Switched from Aptimel to Kendamil and she has really settled now. Also burping 2/3 times during feeds - roughly every 5 to 10 minutes has really helped.

My girl drinks from the dr browns narrow neck anti colic and they're the best I've found for helping reduce the swallowed air xx

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Bath Time

Help! My baby is 3 and a half weeks old. Every bath she goes in quite happy but will only stay like this for a very few mins, if I try to clean her or move her we have tears and after a few mins the same. It's like she is scared. Our current baby bath is quite big should I try a different one? Looking for any suggestions as want her to enjoy bath time not be upset and I'm scared I'm going to make her hate it😢💗

Big nursing bras!

I’m looking for recommendations for good nursing bras for bigger breasted ladies!

I’m currently in a 38H which seems to be the biggest size done at M&S (UK based mama here) and it’s snug and not as supportive as I’d like. When I look online, they mainly seem to be sized S, M, L, XL etc rather than bra sizes.

Any recommendations please?

Crying during feeding

Hey mams! My girl is 6 weeks on Monday and is having so much trouble with feeding. It doesn’t happen every feed but more often than not she will start a bottle and just start crying as if she’s in pain and she can’t take the milk. I think it’s trapped wind but I genuinely don’t know what to do it’s so pitiful to see her not be able to feed! She’s formula fed and on HiPP Organic.
Anyone else been in this position? I’m pretty sure it’s just a bit of trapped wind that she needs to fart out but can’t! If anyone has any advice I’d be very grateful as I think I may need to tape my eyelids open soon 😂
